Mikey's POV

The panic was all consuming. I could feel it in every drop of my blood. I can't lose her, I can't lose her, I can't lose her. I chanted it over and over, I didn't even register I was saying it out loud until Draken spoke from my side. "We won't". I had automatically started applying pressure to her shoulder and Ken was trying to stop Izana's bleeding. "SOMEONE CALL A FUCKING AMBULANCE!!!!" I screamed at no one in particular. There's just so much blood and it won't stop coming. My hands are covered in crimson, I didn't feel myself start crying but I saw them fall and land on her face. 

What would Yuu do? She would check pulse and breathing. I search her wrist for a pulse but I can't find one FUCK, my fingers aren't trained to find a pulse like her. "I need you here with me Yuu, I can't do this without you, please please please I can't. Remember you want to take over the dojo from gramps, marry a certain blondie, and have two kids. You can't go." I scramble to put my fingers on her neck, a sob wracks my body when I find her precious heart still working. Okay breathing now, I put my ear close to her mouth, she's breathing but it's labored. 

I'm not sure how long I stay there begging her to stay with me and holding pressure to her shoulder. Finally, finally I hear the ambulance, its all a blur but I find myself in the ambulance while they work on her, tears are still streaming down my face. She is light, and all things good, she can't die. 

Yuu's POV

Holy fucking balls my whole body hurts. I try to open my lips, my eyes, move anything. It's feels like the hardest thing I've ever done. My lips peel apart and then my eyes, white sterile ceiling tiles stare back at me. I croak out "Manjiro" I hear him frantically scramble out of his chair before I feel his hand on mine. 

"Yuu.." His voice shatters before he can get my name out. I pick up my head, it feels like its a thousand pounds. "Shhh I'm here" My eyes finally focus on him "Baby you look like shit, how long has it been since you slept?" 

"Oh for gods sake, you just got shot and you're worried about my sleep?" His eyes are bloodshot like he's been crying for hours and his hair is a wreck. 

"Fuck, I got shot? It didn't mess up my perfect boobs did it?" He snorts "No it didn't" 

Reality rushes back to me in a flash. I try to sit up but end up jerking and groaning from the pain instead. He makes an alarmed noise "Baby you can't get up yet, everything is okay, everyone is okay, well....Izana didn't make it." He explains everything to me while I lay there as still as I can be because well getting shot fucking hurts. 

"Damn, so he really got hit by a bus?" Ro nods. Alarm shoots through my body at the realization "Emma!" he smiles "She's fine, she woke up yesterday, she keeps asking about you." My eyes close of their own accord as my body finally releases the anxiety it had been holding and I fall back to sleep.

4 years later...

Mikey's POV 

I enter the house to the sound of footsteps pattering the floor and the sound of Yuu shouting "IZANA!" when suddenly my right leg is tackled by the little stinker, I toss my coat onto the rack and pick Iz up tossing her in the air a few times. "Hi baby, how was your day?" She giggles and her melodic little voice rings out "Hi daddy, it was good!" She babbles to me about eating strawberries, Mommy yelling at her, and chasing the kitty cat. I nod along very intently and start searching the house for my beautiful wife.

I find her in the kitchen in front of a pot of something that smells great. She chastely kisses me on the cheek with bright eyes. "Blondie, you're home early." 

I shrug "I missed you both too much" 

She socks me in the arm lightly, "Nobody is gonna come to you for repairs if you close the shop at 1pm. Butttt since you're here can you put Iz down for a nap?" 

I look at Iz with a silly expression "It's your nap time little one lets go."

After Yuu was shot I decided not to waste anytime, as soon as she was lucid enough I proposed to her. Our teenage foolishness caught up to us eventually with the best blessing we could have ever asked for, Izana.

After I made sure Iz was fully asleep I found Yuu still at the pot on the stove. I hugged her from behind with one arm and gently swept the hair off her neck with my other hand. She clicked the stove off before turning to face me.

Iz woke up early from her nap because of the commotion. Kids ran around, my family chatted, we ate dinner and for not the first time nor would it be the last time. I thought, I am so fucking glad to have met the Sano's.
