Part 8

Ro and I had been spending as much time as we could together, he was meeting with his friends tonight but he dragged me along anyway on the condition that Draken would bring Emma.

To be honest our fight with Valhalla was tomorrow and everyone was starting to get antsy. We had our prebattle meeting yesterday. Ro is devastated about losing Baji to Valhalla I saw it in his eyes as he spouted bullshit about not going easy on traitors. His eyes found mine and a few emotions flickered across his face before he finally sighed "Can I just be a kid?" he asked all of Toman. And plopped down on the top stair. "I don't wanna fight Baji."

"SO HERE IS MY SOLUTION.  LEND ME YOUR STRENGTH EVERYONE. TOMORROW WERE GONNA CRUSH VALHALLA AND TAKE BAJI BACK"

"THATS HOW WE FIGHT OUR BATTLES" I slid my mask down so he could read my lips. "I'm proud of you".

After the meeting Takemitchy pulled me off to the side and told me he was worried about the Valhalla fight. I don't really know how to explain it but when you look in that guys eyes you can see he's desperately fighting something. He asked me to keep an eye on Baji, he had a bad feeling that something was going to happen.

I agreed, after all I don't have a reason to say no, Baji is important to Ro and I will protect everyone he loves.

I shake my head trying to relax a bit before we arrive.

When we pull up to the little family restaurant we're meeting at, Draken sweeps me up into a hug almost as soon as I get off the bike.

He actually gave me a noogie before he said "Man I'm glad Mikey finally came to his senses. It was boring without you around." I chuckle and elbow him in the stomach just hard enough for him to "oompf" and release me. I flip to face him and spread my feet a bit. "You wanna go big guy? Nobody gives me a noogie and gets away with it."

Ro throws his arms around me and whines "Babeeeee you can't we need him for the fight" he loves PDA I had discovered.

"I'm not sure Manjiro I think I could take on his portion of Valhalla" and turn to give him a kiss on the cheek. Ro laughs and I spot Emma peeking out from behind Draken.

"Em!!! I've missed you so much." I pull her into a hug and twirl her around. I'm barely able to do that since we are the same height. After I set her down I plant a fat sloppy kiss on her check. She makes a "blegh" sound and wipes it away.

"Whatever I'm sure you wouldn't have wiped it if I was Draken." They both go pink.

"At least Ro will never wipe my kisses" I stick my bottom lip out in a pout. 

"Of course not!!!" Ro says proudly. Now everyone is laughing.

"C'mon guys lets go get some food!" I say  and then we're walking in the restaurant.

It feels so good to just be around friends. Laughing, telling each other stories. They fill me in on all of Ro's shenanigans since I left Japan. I guess even after I was gone he was still the trouble maker in his group.

I tell them as many stories as I can remember from my childhood with Ro. I even tell them how I used to fake cry when he would do something mean just to get him to come close to check on me and then I would punch him in the stomach and run away. Ro looks so happy, it makes me giddy seeing that light in his eyes.

Our poor waitress asks us to quiet down at least six times before asking us to leave. We take it outside just to talk for another hour.

It's nice getting to know Ro's crew.

Smiley and Angry are completely the opposite of their names and facial expressions it's so confusing to watch them.

Hakkai is a big oaf who obviously loves Mitsuya a lot. I ask about his family but he'll only talk about his sister Yuzuha. I asked him to pass my number along to her, Im always recruiting new girl friends.
