''Joel, I'm here,'' Mille said placing the champagne and cigarettes down on the dining table.
Joel's house was pitch black, Millie had no idea why he hadn't at least turned on the dining room light so she switched it on for him.
''Millie, you came,'' Joel smiled showing his pearly whites.
''Well yeah, you told me to, so what is it you wanted?''
Joel poured himself a glass of champagne and his eyes met Millie's eyes, soon they were way too close. Joel leaned in toward Millie, trying to kiss her but she pushed him away, he fell to the floor.
''Are you insane? You're bloody drunk!'' Millie yelled.
''A little bit yeah,'' Joel laughed
Millie grabbed the champagne bottle, raised it into the air and smashed it into Joel's head; she wasn't thinking clearly now. Millie may have hated Joel before but Millie hated him even more now since he tricked her into coming over just he could try make out with her. Millie continued smashing the bottle onto his head until he was dead. Suddenly, she dropped the bottle and fell to the ground; she had just realised what she'd done and the memories came flooding back as she sobbed hard.
Those memories she had of Jimmy, he didn't pass away; Millie killed him just like she did to Joel. It took her this long to actually realise it, she always assumed he passed away because she didn't remember herself killing him since her cigarettes had gotten to her head making her forget things, but it flooded back. She had killed her husband and now she had killed Joel.
''I'm a horrible person,'' Millie repeated to herself.
Millie rushed back to her own house, she picked up her phone and dialled 000.
''000, what's your emergency?'' came the voice of the operators.
''I-I-I think I killed someone,'' Millie replied.
''Okay, all right what's your name hon?''
''Millie, Millie Roberts.''
''Okay, and where do you live?''
''I live at uh...1042 Hail Berry road.''
''All right we'll get the cops and ambulance over right away.''
Mille hung up the phone, she paced around her house. What had she done? Why'd she do it? A few minutes had passed, when there was a loud thundering knock at the door; she raced to go and open it and there standing in blue uniforms and thick hats were about three police officers.
''Millie Roberts, you are under arrest for the murder of Joel Banks, you have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do will be used against you in court of law'' exclaimed one of the police officers handcuffing Millie.
They lead her outside to the police car, she saw an ambulance parked outside of Joel's house and paramedics were carrying his what looked like dead body out on a stretcher and into the back of the ambulance.
The ambulance drove away, and Millie was driven down to the police station for questioning. The police lead her into a small room with a smallish table in the middle of the room and two metal chairs. An officer sat down on one of the chairs and pulled out a notepad and pen. Millie also sat down, she twiddled her thumbs in her lap in nervousness and her legs shaking under the table.
''I am going to ask you a couple of questions regarding the last few hours, is that okay?'' asked the officer.
Millie nodded nervously, she was super nervous and wasn't sure what the officers would say to her but she kept her cool and took deep breaths in from nose and out from her mouth.
''Okay, where were you before you went over to Joel Banks' house?''
''I was home, I was having dinner and then passed out on the couch with my cigarettes'' replied Millie.
The policer wrote Millie's exact words down on his notepad, he looked back up at her.
''Okay, and what happened when you arrived at Joel's house?''
''I...uh...well I remember him inviting me over for something and then I...I uh...think I must have got mad at him for....uh something that he did...and I hit him in the head with...I think it was champagne...a bottle of it.''
''That was a little of stammering, are you sure that's what happened?''
''Yeah I'm pretty sure, my mind's all fuzzy. Holy god, he's not dead is he?''
Millie thought Joel was a bit of a maniac but he was always trying to help her, she wanted to accept his gestures and stuff but she just couldn't. she wasn't even aware of the crush Joel had on her.
''What do you mean?'' questioned the police officer. ''You were the one that claimed you killed him, but to answer your question he is most likely in a coma due to brain damage.''
''I need to go see him please'' exclaimed Millie.
''You can't, you are under oath for the illegal actions towards a male individual.''
''I need to see him.''
''You can't, if you keep begging I'll lock you up.''
''I don't care, I want to see him right now.''
''Security please remove this woman and let her see that neighbour of hers'' exclaimed the officer through a ham radio attached to his pants.
A couple of security guards made their way over to the small room where Millie sat, they dragged her out and she kicked and squirmed.
''I think the officer gave you a second change Millie so get the hell out'' they yelled throwing Millie at the ground outside of the station.
