It had been a few hours since the last activity, everyone had took a break to have some lunch, prepared by the lovely Fifi. However, Sadie wandered over to the small vending machine, Christian joined her.
"Hey," he exclaimed.
"Hey," she smiled.
"What, you getting?"
"Probably just a coke."
Sadie pulled out the 50 dollars she had slipped out of Stella's pocket and placed it into the machine, she pressed in her coordinates and watched as a small grabber moved along the machine and gripped hold of her coke, it moved down to the bottom and she picked it out from the latch.
"Wow, you must be a master at these cause half the time they never work properly," Christian smiled.
"Guess I just have a magic touch," Sadie laughed.
Christian laughed with her, they were just about to find a bench to sit at when Stella's loud scream echoed the cafeteria. "Who the hell stole my 50 dollars? I was gonna use that to buy food at the vending machine," she screamed, her voice squawking like a small parrot.
Sadie held back a laugh, Christian eyed her suspiciously and whispered in her ear, "wait, did you steal her money?"
She nodded, still trying to hold back a laugh.
"First, you beat her up and then steal her lunch money. I like you Sadie," Christian said softly.
"I called her out before too, so I think her hate for me has risen higher since I got here," Sadie explained.
"IT WAS YOU!" Stella's voice screamed again as she made her way over to Sadie. "You stole my money, didn't you?"
"Nope, I have no idea what you're talking about," Sadie smirked.
"Yes you do, you stole my 50 dollars that was in my back pocket when I walked away earlier after I threatened you," Stella poked Sadie's chest.
"Oh, I'm sorry that you're so oblivious to your surroundings."
Stella gripped Sadie by her squiggly orange hair once again and titled her head back. "You're in for a treat now, bitch. Just you wait, I'm gonna make you wish you'd never been born."
She let Sadie go. "Oh, I'm so scared, I think I'm gonna cry," Sadie said sarcastically.
"You should be scared," Stella smirked.
Stella walked back to her friends, Sadie just rolled her eyes. "God, I can't stand her, she thinks she's so tough," Sadie whispered to Christian.
"I know right, come on lets go sit down," Christian said.
Sadie and Christian went to sit down at a bench, she glanced down at the small brown bag in front of her. Inside was a toasted sandwich, a cookie and an apple.
"Okay, we get chicken curry for dinner, toast for breakfast and this shit for lunch. I'd rather just have my coke," Sadie said.
Christian took a bite out of his toasted sandwich. "What, you don't like Toasties?" He asked.
"Meh, take it or leave it," Sadie replied.
Christian laughed. "You're so funny, has anyone ever told you that?"
"Not to my face, my parents used to say it behind my back when I was younger but I don't think they really meant it."
"Well you are, don't let anybody tell you otherwise," Christian smiled.
"You're quite the charmer aren't you?" She giggled taking a sip of her coke.
"Not really, I'm very shy when it comes to trying to talk with girls. Mostly, because none of them like me besides my sister."
"Seriously? Girls don't like you? You're everything girls want in a guy," Sadie said.
Christian blushed, he didn't enjoy girl's company due to none of them liking him that much but Sadie seemed to bring the best out of him, she saw him in a new light and that's what he loved about her. I think I'm falling for this girl he thought to himself.
"Sadie, can I talk to you about something super important?"
Sadie took another sip of her coke. "Yeah, what's up?"
"I like you, Sadie. I think you're just perfect, you're beautiful, smart, funny and a badass," Christian managed to say without stuttering as he normally did when talking with girls.
"Aww, that's a good joke," Sadie laughed. "Don't be silly to impress me you goof, I'm none of those things."
"I'm not joking, Sadie," Christian said, his voice harsher now.
Sadie just let out a loud laugh, she didn't realise how much Christian was startled by it. "Oh, Christian you don't need to lie. I know I'm not beautiful."
Christian just rolled his eyes. "But you are Sadie, I know you don't think you are, but I do."
"Thanks Christian, I appreciate it," she smiled.
Her smile brought comfort to his face, as he just continued watching her sip her coke.
An hour had passed, and the second activity began. "You'll be split into a pair, one of you will jump into the lake and pretend to drown while your opponent throws a safety net to help you to safety. This is all about water safety and learning how to cope in the real world if you do drown," Nicole explained. "Any questions?"
Sadie raised her hand, she wanted to make a sarcastic joke to make Christian laugh.
"Yes, Sadie?" Nicole asked.
"Yeah, I have a question what if you think this is stupid and aren't dumb enough to actually drown if you know how to swim?" Sadie asked.
"Well, it's just for fun Sadie, it's a life-"Nicole started to say.
"Oh, so you want me to go 'oh help me, help me I'm drowning, I'm drowning' yeah that's not happening, I'll sound like a bloody idiot," said Sadie sarcastically.
Christian hid a little laugh as Stella rolled her eyes and raised her hand.
Nicole sighed, she was sick of this rivalry between Sadie and Stella. "Yes, Stella what is it?"
"Why must Sadie always ruin my life with all her stupid jokes?" She asked.
"I don't know Stella, ask her that," Nicole told her. "Okay, if you're not participating stand off to the side."
Sadie backed down off to the side, Stella eyed her and stormed over to her. "What is your problem?" She asked.
"What do you mean?" Sadie asked, confused as she raised an eyebrow.
"You know what I mean, your little schemes to impress Christian have gone on way too long," Stella exclaimed.
"I'm not trying to impress anyone, I just don't see the point in doing these stupid activities."
"If you're not going to do them, why be here?"
Sadie wasn't sure why Stella was butting into her business all of a sudden but she wasn't going to tell her shit.
"I ain't telling you anything so quit talking to me and go jump off a cliff, will you?" Sadie said.
"God, you're such a bitch," Stella yelled.
"Hey, don't call her that," Christian cut in.
"Stay out of this Christian," Sadie whispered to him.
"Yeah, that's right listen to your bitch, Christian," Stella teased.
Sadie furrowed her eyebrows at Stella, she didn't do anything she just glared at her.
"You're gonna wish you'll never been born after I'm through with you," Stella exclaimed. "I will beat you up so badly that you wish you were dead, I'm gonna make the rest of your summer a living nightmare. You think I can't, just you wait, bitch. You may have me figured out but you have no idea what I can really do."
Stella walked away, Sadie just shook her head. "She's not tough," she whispered to Christian.
He nodded and laughed.
