The next morning, Joel seemed much better; he had his bandage off and was making himself breakfast but however he had a distinct look of angriness upon his face. Millie had just woken up to the lovely smell of French toast, she headed into the kitchen and that's when Joel looked up.
He just stared her down and said nothing, she was confused. Maybe he got his memory back and knew what Millie had done to him.
''You're a bitch'' he exclaimed.
''What?'' questioned Millie.
''You heard me, I got my memory back last night and I remembered you whacking me across the head and that's such a horrible thing to do like really horrible. What kind of sicko do you have to be? You're a sociopath Mills.''
That's when something snapped inside of Millie as she felt the anger boil inside of her.
''First off I'm no sociopath, I have some issues I will admit but that doesn't lead me to being anything like a sociopath and second I tried to tell you that my name is Millie, not Mills'' she snapped.
''Aww boo hoo, you hate being called Mills; suck it up okay. It's just a stupid nickname that you are getting upset about'' he teased.
''Goddammit Joel, you are such a dickhead.''
''Yeah perhaps, but I want to show you something inside your house. I saw it when you told me to sleep on the couch, I wandered around in the middle of the night and found a hatch leading to your attic and that's when I saw well...it's best if I just showed you.''
Millie followed Joel towards her basement, he pulled down the hatch and stairs came down leading up towards the basement and a sticky red substance seemed to be all over the steps.
''Up the stairs'' demanded Joel.
Millie was the first to head up the stairs and Joel after, she stopped at the top of the stairs and Joel stood beside her.
''Follow me!'' he exclaimed.
Millie once again followed Joel towards the back of the attic, he pointed to something on the floor. There was a dead body lying there, a huge knife still lodged in his stomach from where Millie didn't remember that she stabbed him.
''Holy shit...what the hell?'' I yelled.
''You killed him, you must have; Jesus Christ Mills you killed your own husband. What is wrong with you?''
Millie just dropped to her knees, Joel rolled his eyes and pulled his phone out of his pocket.
''You are going to call the police, and tell them exactly about everything and you will be locked up for a while'' exclaimed Joel.
''No, no please'' whined Millie beginning to cry.
''You don't have a choice Mills, you committed murder.''
He threw the phone at Millie's chest, she caught it but however she did not dial it.
''Dial, tell them exactly what happened.''
Millie sighed, she dialled and told the operator everything; the police came, took Millie to the police station and locked her up.
Millie was visited by Joel every day, they had conversations about everything but that suddenly stopped when Joel found someone new in his life and stopped visiting Millie.
Millie was devastated but she didn't care.
