- - - - RIVERDALE TOWN SQUARE - - - - The next morning, Peter and Gwen are walking to school together which the two of them haven't done in a while.
Peter: When was the last time it was just the two of us, hanging out.
Gwen: The way things have been going? Feels like forever. You get a chance to read Betty's article?
Peter: I took a look at it. Did you?
Gwen: What did you think?
Peter: I mean... it was very Betty.
Gwen: True, but she is right. This town is changing and no one wants to acknowledge it. Mayor McCoy wants to act like everything is still the same as it was and it's not.
Peter: Y'know, people are scared of change.
Gwen: Yeah and change is apart of life, Peter. We have to accept it or we'll just be living in the past for the rest of our lives. It's time that Riverdale embraces the future.
Peter takes these words that Gwen is saying to him to heart and starts to feel like maybe he's the one bringing on this change and if he also needs to change and embrace the future also.
Peter: It's funny. You're starting to sound a lot like a politician.
Gwen: Who knows what the future holds.
Peter: Gwen Stacy Mayor of Riverdale. Heh, kinda has a nice ring to it.
- - RIVERDALE HIGH SCHOOL/HALLWAY - - Later, at school, Peter is walking the hallways, being bumped into by other students who don't even notice him. When Peter rounds the corner, he sees that Max Dillion old locker was messed vandalized with the world's "ELECTRIC FREAK" spray painted across the door. Peter seems to be the only who notices because the other students pay it no mind. Peter stands there and stares at the locker when he hears a voice coming from behind him.
???: It's what he wanted, Y'know?
Peter turns around and sees Valerie Brown standing there and she begins to stand next to him as she also begins to look at the vandalized locker of Max Dillion.
Valerie[cont.]: To be remembered. Good thing he got his wish.
Peter: How... how're you holding up? About the whole thing?
Valerie: I'm thankful for Spider-Man saving me but I wish there was a part of me that could've helped him. Before he went crazy
