- - - - - SOUTHSIDE HIGH - - - - After learning about Jughead being at Southside High School the inner circle, which includes: Betty, Archie, Gwen, Veronica, Peter, Harry, and MJ arrive at the school as they rundown the halls to look for the cafeteria. As they walk down the halls, MJ is amazed by the sights she's seeing as she wishes she was transferred to this school.
MJ: Now this is my kind of place.
Peter: Just come on.
The inner-circle burst inside the cafeteria and in the distance they see Jughead laughing and enjoying himself with a group of students. Jughead then turns around sees all his friends standing behind him and is flabbergasted for them being there.
Jughead: What are you guys doing here?
A few moments later and the inner-circle are all outside as Jughead is explaining his reasoning for going to Southside High to Betty.
Jughead: I didn't tell you ahead of time because I knew you would've tried to stop me.
Betty: Damn straight. And I'm still gonna try.
Jughead: Betty, the Southside is where the powers that be want me. Maybe I wanna be here as well. I may blend in better here. And it would keep you safe.
Betty: I'm not letting Riverdale's civil war split us apart, Jug.
As Betty and Jug are talking, MJ is sitting on the steps, trying to keep herself warm, when Harry comes by and puts his jacket over her.
Harry: Here.
MJ: Thanks. Never thought I'd be any way colder than New York.
Harry: You think this cold, just wait till Christmas hits.
As Harry and MJ are sharing this nice moment, together, they notice that Veronica has a look of worry on her face. She then approaches the whole group to tell them something.
Veronica: Guys, we gotta go now.
- - - - SWEETWATER RIVER - - - - A few moments later the gangs arrives at Sweetwater River as they all begin to call out for Cheryl, but there is no answer from her, not even a speck of her insight. The gang begins to worry.
Harry: She's not here.
Gwen: Where else could she be?
As they all begin to look around, MJ notices something, in the distance, and immediately panics and gets everyone's attention.
MJ: Over there! Oh, my God. She's over there!
They all turn to see Cheryl in the middle of the ice and begins punching it. The inner-circle then scream for Cheryl to stop and begins running to the edge but just before Peter goes any further, Archie stops him.
Archie: Wait, wait! Wait, Pete!
Jughead: The ice. He's right. Too much weight, and we'll all go under.
