THE PIRATES DODGE hastily, and the Pirate Barker throws smoke bombs, using the mess to make an escape.
Some soldiers attempt to approach Y/N, Sokka, and Aang, who struggle against their ropes. However, the pirates quickly intercept them.
Between all this, Momo scampers down a tree, darting swiftly to Katara's side and gnawing through her bindings to free her.
Katara: "Thanks, Momo. I owe you a bushel of apples." She runs towards the fray, her focus sharp.
Aang dodges through the thickening smoke. A thrown knife whizzes past him, slicing through his bindings and setting him free. Nearby, Y/N rolls to evade a Fire Nation soldier's attack. With a subtle flair, he draws in a deep breath and expels a stream of black flames through his nostrils, burning his binds without drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Zuko maneuvers out of the dense smoke, clutching the waterbending scroll behind his back. His relief is short-lived as the Pirate Captain spots him. They clash fiercely, and the scroll is knocked into the air in the struggle. Momo leaps, catching it mid-flight, but the pirate captain's iguana parrot swoops in, striking Momo. The scroll tumbles back towards the ground.
As the scroll descends, a knife hurtles toward Sokka, narrowly missing his head but providing him with an unexpected tool as it pokes the ground. Sokka uses the now-ground-impaled knife as a way to cut his bindings.
Sokka: "Aang, are you there?!" He shouts, his voice cutting through the disorder.
Aang: "I'm over here! Follow my voice!" His voice echoes back, barely audible over the noise.
Sokka: "Where? I can't find you!"
Aang: "I'm right here!" He airbends the dust away, revealing the pirates surrounding him, and quickly airbends it back around himself. "Uh, never mind! I'll find you!" Sokka climbs out of the dust cloud on his hands and knees. Aang and Y/N vault over him in a full sprint. "Run!"
Aang: "Katara, you're okay!" He says, relief washing over his face as they find Katara trying to push the pirate boat back into the water.
Katara: "Help me get this boat back in the water so we can get outta here!" She urges, her voice strained with effort.
Sokka: "We'd need a team of rhinos to budge this ship." He pants, clearly out of breath.
Aang: "A team of rhinos, or two waterbenders." He looks at Katara with a determined smirk.
Aang and Katara begin pushing and pulling the water, but some Fire Nation soldiers and pirates spot them.
Y/N ducks under a fireball, countering with a burst of his black flames that sizzle through the air. He rolls to the side, avoiding another attack, and thrusts his hands forward, releasing a stream of dark fire that engulfs a soldier's weapon, melting it instantly. A pirate swings a sword at him, but Y/N sidesteps, grabbing the pirate's arm and using the momentum to flip him to the ground.
Sokka: "Show-off." He mutters, trying to help by throwing his boomerang, but it bounces harmlessly off a soldier's armor. "Yeah, that did nothing." He grumbles.
Y/N leaps over Sokka, delivering a spinning kick that sends a wave of black fire toward a group of enemies, forcing them to scatter. He lands gracefully, eyes narrowing as he sees another wave of attackers approaching. He channels his flames into a concentrated blast, scorching a path through the soldiers.
Sokka: "I could've handled that... eventually!" He shouts, clearly trying to save face.
Y/N: "Sorry."
As Y/N dispatches the last threats, Aang and Katara's combined efforts finally get the boat to rise.
Katara: "Everybody in!" She calls out, urgency in her voice.
