3rd person POV (Yeosang):
It's been a month since Yeosang was sobbing on his best friend's mom's porch. He's been keeping his distance from everyone. It's summer break, and he's not going out at all, only coming out of his room when he needs to eat or use the bathroom. He's a wreck. All of his friends are concerned. Every now and then, they leave him a note that Jongho slips under his door.
Yeosang regretted his actions, but he was unable to control himself. It felt as if his spirit was trapped in a cage, unable to break free. Occasionally, he would slide a note under Jongho's door, simply stating 'I apologize', or he would compose a poem. His latest creation read:"Spring flowers are starting to Bloom
Yet I'm stuck in winter
Birds come back from their travel
Yet I'm stuck in winter
The snow covering my heart it's turned into ice
Everyone thinks I'm cold
Because I'm stuck in winter
The summer sun is shining
I'm still stuck in winter
Everyones enjoying summer
Why am I still stuck in winter"Yeosang communicated with Jongho by writing poems, hoping that Jongho would be able to understand his feelings.
Yeosang's emotions were like a rollercoaster - one moment he was happy and out of his room, the next he was back in a dark place. Right now, he was staring at the ceiling when he heard a knock on the door. 'Who's there?' Yeosang tried to speak, but his voice failed him. Jongho entered, holding a cup. 'I made you some hot chocolate, please have it,' Jongho said, placing the cup on Yeosang's nightstand. 'Thank you,' Yeosang replied. As Jongho began to leave, Yeosang hesitated. 'Wait, umm... Can you stay with me?' Yeosang's voice trembled. Jongho sat down without a word. Yeosang moved closer, resting his head on Jongho's shoulder. 'Are you okay?' Jongho asked, concern evident in his voice. 'I'll be fine, just stay with me,' Yeosang said, shifting his head onto Jongho's lap.
Jongho gently ran his fingers through Yeosang's hair, who had already drifted off to sleep. Carefully, Jongho lifted Yeosang and placed him on the bed. He then settled down next to Yeosang, wrapping his arms around him, providing comfort and security.
Actions speak louder than words when it comes to showing love.
The stars were perfectly aligned that night, making everything feel just right.
3rd person POV (Jongho):
Jongho and the whole friend group were brainstorming ways to get Yeosang out of his room. Mingi jokingly suggested locking him out and tying him to the sofa, but everyone's reaction made him quickly change his mind. Instead, they decided to try giving him gifts. Wooyoung asked what they should give, and Jongho suggested giving Yeosang things he loved the most. They all agreed and started making a list of Yeosang's favorite things on a piece of paper.
Most of these items are food, Seonghwa pointed out. "I'll whip up a hot chocolate for him once I'm back home, that might lift his spirits a bit," Jongho suggested, with everyone nodding in agreement. "Does anyone have any idea why he's acting this way?" San inquired. "I believe he's feeling disconnected from the world, like he doesn't belong here and should be gone, but he won't actively try to end his life. He just feels out of place," Yunho responded to San's query. "He must be really tired," Hongjoong remarked as he embraced Seonghwa. "Bleh," Mingi chimed in, causing everyone to chuckle.
Jongho proposed having a small gathering for him, not a full-blown party, just a chill hangout at our dorm. "How should we do it?" San inquired. "I was thinking a massive sleepover, complete with pillows and movies, you know, all the cozy stuff," Jongho suggested. "He would definitely enjoy that," Wooyoung chimed in. "You're so considerate, Jongho," Yunho complimented. "But when should we do it?" Seonghwa questioned. "If the hot chocolate plan goes well tonight, how about all day tomorrow?" Jongho suggested. "Sounds good, and let's each bring some food, but let's assign who brings what first so we don't all bring the same thing," Hongjoong suggested. They divided up the food responsibilities and went their separate ways.
Jongho strolled back to his place, stopping by the store to grab a few more pillows, and shooting off texts to his friends asking them to bring some pillows over. Once he got home, he tossed the pillows in his room, then headed to the living room to catch an episode of 'The Vampire Diaries' before fixing himself some dinner. "I don't get why Elena is so into Stefan. 'You're not like this Stefan' Yes he is, He's a vampire, of course he's like that. Ugh, she's so annoying sometimes," Jongho grumbled to himself as he cooked.
Jongho finished his meal and strained to hear if Yeosang was up. The silence was overwhelming, and although he usually enjoyed it, it now felt suffocating. "I'll go make some hot chocolate," Jongho announced as he headed to the kitchen to prepare the drink. After adding a few mini marshmallows to the finished cup, he made his way to Yeosang's door.
Jongho rapped on the door, hearing a faint squeak. Opening it, he approached Yeosang who was now sitting up. "I made you some hot chocolate, please drink it," Jongho offered, placing the cup on Yeosang's nightstand before stepping back. "Wait, can you stay with me?" Yeosang's voice quivered behind him. Jongho silently sat down, gazing at Yeosang with concern. "Are you alright?" Jongho inquired. "I'll be okay, just stay with me," Yeosang replied, resting his head on Jongho's lap. Jongho gently stroked Yeosang's hair until he drifted off to sleep. Watching Yeosang sleep so peacefully made all of Jongho's worries disappear.
Jongho embraced him, gently laying him on the bed before holding him close. "You'll be fine," Jongho murmured softly.
"I'll always be by your side," Jongho whispered before drifting off to sleep as well.
