Soaking my body in the moonlight
While my mind rests at snooze
Reaching for stars and falling back
To Earth. "Take your T-shirt!" I said
"I'll never wear it again"
But it's not much of a surprise that
I'm huddled in it looking for
Pieces of what was never us
And always usSaid, "I don't miss you anymore."
I'm such a liar
"I never think of him anymore"
Wish this was satire
Or comical, even a tragedy
Then maybe it would have amounted to something
But this is just sad
And I'm not my mother
I'll probably never forgive
And may never move on
Come to think of it
Let me show you how a grudge is held
I'll show you the purple of a bruise never healed
