Of course walking out of class some jock group which also happens to be Jane's boyfriend, Mike. Shoulder checks me and makes me drop my book. I kneel down to grab the stupid book and the notes that spilled out but someone grabs it before I can.
it's Jane, she grabs the book and hands it to me but stays kneeling down with me collecting all the papers in one pile. "Sorry about Mike he can be a real asshole sometimes." Jane smiles with a soft smile for the second time. Say something idiot!, I open my mouth stammering but instead of saying thank you like a normal person would. I instead say,
"you know the 100 folds on a chefs hat represents the amount of ways to cook an egg" I blurt.
She gives me a confused face and stands up I go up with her and almost drop the book again. "uhm.. I'm gonna go, bye max!" she gives me a hug around the waist. I flush again and awkwardly pat her back in response to the hug.
She pulls her arms back but I feel her hands slow down to touch my waist, smiles and walks away. I press the heel of my hand to my forehead. What the hell was that, a fucking egg fun fact. I have to shove my biology book back in my locker, fixing my hair in the mirror.
But the dismissing bell rings and it's finally time to get out of this hell hole.
I walk through the huge doors that connect the school to the outside world. The air is humid and warm. My least favorite weather. Anyways I grab my bike and snap my helmet on and begin peddling. I always have to bike home but it isn't that far so it's not completely miserable.
I was building on the sidewalk but I notice the bike start wobbling regardless I still keep riding but the bike, of course, gives out on a large hill. I mutter a string of cuss words while falling down the hill and also getting a bunch of little scrapes and bruises but I manage to come to a stop. I try to at least use my hand to support me sitting up but the palms of my hand are too scraped to do anything. Then I feel something crawling around on my stomach.
I lift up my shirt to see a spider and road rash. I don't flick off initially because it looked way different than the usual black or brown spiders you usually see. This one was a dark red and blue but I should have flicked it off because it sinks its fangs into my stomach. "Ow!" I say flicking off the spider. I look at the two little red dots that the spider left.
By now I know I have to get up soon and walk to my house. I struggle to get up my hands being absolutely useless. I grab what's left of my bike and head to my house which thankfully isn't that far so I manage to limp to my house.
