The children were lying in bed asleep as their heads hit the pillows. As Daella made her way to the bed, Helaena watched the children before following. When they both reached the bed, Daella soon realized something had been wrong by the way Helaena fiddled with her fingers. "I fear something unexpectable," Helaena said calmly as she sat on the bed, and Daella walked around it with furrowed brows.
"What is there to fear in our chambers?" she asked honestly as she sat beside the woman she loved. "I see swords and blood, though I admit it is unclear," Helaena told her before there was a knock at the door. "Come," Daella said as she stood and walked to the door, standing in the middle of the room.
"Princess, there were stowaways on a ship from King's Landing. One of which wishes to speak with you," the guard said as he stood by the now open door. "Does the Queen know?" she asked, causing him to nod. She looked back at Helaena, who looked on with worry-filled eyes before watching Daella walk away.
She followed the guard until they made it into the council room, where she could see a figure standing with their hands clasped before them. "Annalie!" She shouted as she ran into the woman who opened her arms. They held each other tightly as Annalie felt tears drop from her eyes; she kissed Daella's head before placing her head on Daellas. Tears ran down Daellas face before she pulled away. Annalie stood back with her hands on Daella's cheeks, wiping the tears away with a soft smile.
"How did you manage?" Daella croaked, tears still streaming down her face. "I paid a friend with the little coin I had left," Annalie answered as Daella pulled her into another tight hug. "How are the children?" Annalie asked as they finally pulled away, but Daella held the woman's hand tightly. "We have just put them to bed, but they will be glad to see you at first light."
Annalie nodded as she squeezed Daella's hand, "Where are you to stay?" Daella asked as she looked back to the guard who had escorted her into the room. "The Queen has given me the chambers near your own," Annalie tells her as Daella nods and guides the woman back to where they had come.
As they came to the corridor, they saw Helaena standing outside the door, a robe wrapped around her. She played with her fingers, looking anxiously at where they entered. "I'm glad to see you, Princess, " Annalie said as they stopped before Helaena, who only offered a small nod.
"She is only tired. We shall speak in the morning over breakfast," Daella suggests with a smile, looking at her maid. "Of course, I must bathe and rest," Annalie tells them as she bows her head to both and walks toward the door, which is only a couple of feet from them but on the opposite side.
Daella gently took Helaena's arm, leading her back into the room while closing the door with her other hand. "Are we certain that she could be trusted?" Helaena whispered as they made their way toward the bed. She took a seat, leaving Daella standing before her. "The Queen has already spoken to her, and I trust her judgment to believe Annalie, " Daella said as she took Helaena's face in her hands, kissing her forehead.
"By morning, we shall know anything. The children will be happy to have her, though I would have hoped Gyda would have come," Daella said, remembering her promise to her former young maid. "I am certain she will be okay; in time, she may find her way here, " Helaena said as Daella walked to the opposite side of the bed and got under the covers, followed by Helaena.
The two looked at each other before intertwining their hands and bringing them to rest between them. They shared a soft kiss before scooting closer, closing their eyes, and falling asleep. The two trusted Rhaenyra completely and believed her when she told them when something felt off.
