"No. 1...."

"No.2...."

"No.3..."

"No. 4..."

"No. 5, Shoto Todoroki"

He stopped listening after that, already knowing what would be coming his way once he leaves this event... atleast his father didn't have time to show up...

Shoto was now 20 years old, and he learned pretty quickly that being a hero wasn't his thing... even as he did everything to convince himself otherwise... After the big war and Dabi's downfall, Shoto was fairly convinced that he would never learn to love the job of being a hero. He just didn't have the mindset to continue on this supposed journey any longer, especially when his so called father kept trying to pursue him into new missions and responsibilities, that Shoto was absolutely not ready for.

He just couldn't deal with this for much longer..

So without as much as speaking with any of his friends and old classmates, he just silently left the event- crossing his fingers for the possibility that he may just get to enter his home before getting the calls and messages from his father... the event was sent live, so it wouldn't even surprise him if Endeavor were already trying to blow off some steam somewhere... as long as it doesn't happen in Shoto's home...

His hand only just collided with his doors handle, when his pocket began vibrating violently- his phone shaking from the many things it was receiving. He can't deal with this right now...

He decided to ignore his phone, and instead kicked his shoes off just inside his small apartment- not caring where they landed as he stripped off his hero uniform and got dressed in some way comfier clothes. He just needs to relax for now...

"No. 5, Shoto Todoroki"

The voice rang in his head, as he thought of ways to prepare his head from the undoubtfully long and loud lecture he would receive from his father.

"You're supposed to atleast be in the top 3, if not 2!"

He'd already had that talk with his father... not that Shoto had much influence on its outcome.

The whole hero role had just, in Shoto's case, completely lost all kind of interest. He didn't want to be a hero... hell, he didn't even want to be himself anymore... His friends and Midoriya especially had all tried to get him out more, tried to cheer him up in all kinds of ways, but nothing seemed to work.. he didn't feel like seeing anyone, much less be outside in general.

His mother had died about a year prior, and both Fuyumi and Natsuo had moved out of Japan, in search of their own things... Touya died barely a year after his capture... So now all Shoto had was his father, who didn't seem to cope with any of the loses... taking his anger and sadness out on Shoto.
