You arrived at your office and Cindy is already there with your assistants. Mrs. Flinch is also on the other line. They're just waiting for you to start.
"Sorry, I came as soon as I can."
"We should've coordinated the schedules properly. It won't happen again, Cassie, right Mr. Walker?"
You didn't see who she's addressing but assumed it's her assistant.
The meeting started and went on for a few minutes. It was to discuss the contract in detail. This will determine if Mrs. Flinch will visit your office for the in-person contract signing.
"Let's go to paragraph 8 of the contract. Is this really another condition?" You are still unsure how you'll fulfill this condition. Mrs. Flinch doesn't have any idea that you and Caleb are related.
"Yes," she firmly said. You looked at Cindy, unsure of how to respond.
"It'll make or break the collaboration. I don't want to scare you and it may sound like a ridiculous thing to ask but it's really important for me," she said with sadness in her voice. You wonder how she knows the famous chef.
"But he hasn't been covered by any magazine let alone be interviewed in depth before," you responded finally and yes, you know it sounds like you're making an excuse.
"I trust that you and your team can handle that and if you really want this collaboration to work, you'll find a way. I heard he's reopening Eclipse today." she continued.
"He is, we're actually invited," Cindy exclaimed. Mrs. Flinch's face seemed lighten up.
"Then, there's your chance to talk and convince him."
"I..."
"We'll make it happen, Mrs. Flinch," Cindy cut you off as she glares at you while smiling.
"Great! Keep me posted. I have to go. I'll see you soon, I hope."
"Good day, ma'am."
The call ended with Cindy still glaring at you. Your assistants excuse themselves and you were left in the conference room.
"Cassie, you know how important this contract is, right? It was your idea to approach Mrs. Flinch."
"Of course I know but that before she made this ridiculous condition." She wants Caleb to be featured in their magazine.
"Look, all you need to do is ask."
"He's been very busy with Eclipse. Besides, he hasn't agreed to any interviews before. Why would he now?"
"You're his wife, duh."
"I don't want to use our relationship just to get what I want."
"Cassie, don't think that way. We may not know if we won't ask."
You sighed in dismay. He has a lot going on right now and this is giving you a headache. If only Mrs. Flinch can be swayed that easily, you could've offered something instead but she was firm. You never asked why she listed that as one of her conditions. She just says it's very important.
"Oh no, we have to go. We'll be late," you looked at the clock and hurriedly left Elite to go back to Caleb's suite and prepare for tonight's event.
