CASSIE'S POV

I was about to go after Caleb when my phone rang again. It's Cindy.

"Bad time?"

"Not really. What's up?" I sat in the couch.

"So, are you excited for your little getaway?"

"How did you know?"

"Caleb asked me to file your leave, saying he wants to take you on a vacation. He wants you to relax and fully recover. He really felt bad, Cassie."

"Since when did you take his side?"

"I'm just stating a fact. He was worried. He took care of you. He stayed with you the whole night when you were sick. He cooked your meals and.."

"And what?"

"He really wants to make thing works between you guys."

"I don't know. It's still too good to be true."

"Is that why you won't to go with him?"

I didn't respond. I'm not sure what to think anymore.

"Let me ask. Do you want to want to fix your relationship?"

"Of course!"

"Do you care for him?"

"I do."

"Do you love him?"

"You know I do, Cinds."

"Then what's the problem?"

"I honestly don't want to expect too much and get hurt later on." I suddenly remember everything from the momen he left and came back. We've grown closer but then drifted apart plus the thing with Ashley that they haven't cleared yet. He doesn't know what I saw.

"Cassandra Andrea, you think WAAAY too much. Just let things go their way and enjoy every moment together. He's reaching out. He's making the first move to get close to you, to patch things up and you doubt his intentions? What do you want him to do then?"

Suddenly, it all comes together. This is what I've been dreaming about - for us to be a real married couple. In a month, your parents will officially announce your marriage. This is also something to look forward to. Caleb is also exerting an effort but I hesitate and doubt him instead. No wonder he felt so hurt when I turned him down earlier.

"So, what's it gonna be? Are you going to act like how he acted towards you before?"

"But I really can't go this weekend. Mrs. Flinch -"

"Let me worry about that. You always complain Caleb not making you his top priority and always thinking about work. Isn't that what you're doing now?"

She's right.

"Enjoy this weekend with him. Maybe this is what you both need. After all, your wedding anniversary is almost coming plus the banquet."

I blushed, thinking how we would bond during these days that we will be away, alone.

"You're right, Cinds. We need to give this a shot to make things right."

"You have to let him in. Make yourselves comfortable being around each other again. And maybe during these days...you know.." she can't hide the grin from her voice. I suddenly realized what she means.

"Cinderella!" I know he hates being called by her real name.

"Not fair, but still, I'm just saying! You'll be alone in a nice place. Maybe you can.."

"Oh shut up! We have to leave early tomorrow." I kept shaking my head as she laughs in the other line.

"Alright! Enjoy and don't forget the deets when you get back!" she hang up.
