Nicolas Malfoy

Nicolas apparates at the safe house again, like he did yesterday and the day before yesterdayand before that and before that. He walked inside, Adrian and Hazel on the couch starleted by him as they gave him a look before clearing their throats and he walks in towards the room she was in, he can feel their gazes following him, wanting to see if today he'll open the door and step inside or will he just take in a shaky breath and leave.

His eyes fixed on the door, his heart racing in his chest. He couldn't face her after failing to protect her, he couldn't face without feeling anger rising within him, he couldn't have been able to bear the sight, it felt like someone had ripped his heart out, his hand hovering over the knob as he looks over the shoulder Hazel and Adrian quickly looks away.

With a deep breath, he opens the door, his eyes immediately falling on her lying there in that bed. He takes a step towards her, his eyes scanning over every inch of her body, taking in the evidence of the attack. His knuckles tighten until they're stark white, the anger rising within him. He takes a deep breath, trying to keep his emotions in check.

William who had been sitting by her side gets up, giving Nicolas a lingering look before exiting the room

Nicolas sits down beside her, his eyes still fixed on her face. He reaches out and gently takes her hand in his own, feeling the softness of her skin against his rougher, calloused ones.

He can see the cuts and bruises marring her skin and feels a wave of anger and helplessness wash over him. He couldn't protect her, he should have been there for her.

He couldn't shake the anger he felt towards himself for failing her. For not being strong enough. He leans closer to her, his eyes tracing the lines of her face, committing every feature to memory. He can hear her shallow breaths, the sound so very delicate and fragile, it makes his heart clench.

He wants her to wake up so badly more than anyone

He feels a desperate need to keep her safe, to make sure this never happens again. He brings her hand to his lips, gently kissing her knuckles, his eyes never leaving her face. He was willing her to wake up, to see her open her eyes and smile at him, to let him know she's okay.

But she remains still and quiet. He can't help but feel a knot forming in his stomach. He looks at her peaceful expression, the slow rise and fall of her chest, but she seems so far away from him.

He feels a lump in his throat as he leans forward, keeping her plam in his heart covering it with his own hand. "Just wake up already," he squeezes the words out in a low voice "You have to be okay, you're are not that weak"

His thumb gently strokes her hand on his his heart as it pounds in his chest the heart that was hers even if hers wasn't his. He's just about to get up and leave when he feels a slight movement in her hand - her fingers twitch ever so faintly. He pauses, holding his breath.

He waits, his heart pounding in his chest, and then it happens again - her fingers twitch again, this time a little more noticeable. He leans forward in his seat, staring at her hand. The movement is faint, but he can see it clearly. Her fingers jerk slightly, as if they're trying to grasp something. It's a small sign of life, a glimmer of hope.

Her fingers twitch again, and this time they curl inward slightly, as if she's trying to form a fist. He watches, his heart pounding in his chest. Is this it? Is she waking up?

His fingers tighten around her hand, his eyes fixed on her face, desperate for any sign of life. He can feel the tension in his own body as he waits and then she suddenly she lets out a small groan, her eyelids fluttering.
