it had been a couple of days since the "incident" and wooyoung and the others were back at their dorm. yeosang hadn't left his side for a second since san carried him through the cabin doors. now, as they were getting ready for the first day of classes, yeosang was reluctant to leave wooyoung by himself. the two of them shared most of their classes, but they had some separate as well.

yeosang felt extremely guilty to wooyoung for letting him go out by himself. he knew it wasn't really his fault, but he couldn't help but think that he should've known better. it wasn't the first time something like this had happened, after all.

wooyoung and yeosang stand awkwardly outside of wooyoung's first class without his best friend.

"are you sure you'll be okay, woo?" yeosang shifts on his feet uneasily.

"i'll be fine, don't worry. you should go so you don't miss your class." wooyoung tries to reassure his nervous friend.

"but still..." yeosang hesitates. "call me as soon as your class is finished, kay?"

"i will, i promise." wooyoung pats yeosang's shoulder.

"get someone to walk you back from class too, i'll see if mingi or seonghwa are free." yeosang pulls out his phone.

"its fine, yeo, really." wooyoung smiles. "i don't want to trouble them."

"okay..." yeosang exhales. "message me right away if something happens."

"okay." wooyoung chuckles. "you don't have to be so worried. really, i'll be fine."

"i trust you, i just don't want you to get hurt again. you still have bruises..." yeosang frowns as he looks at the subtle, almost unnoticeable, bruise on wooyoung's cheek.

"its almost gone, yeo." wooyoung forcefully turns his friend around and pushes him down the hallway. "now go to your class, you're going to be late."

"call me right away when you're done." yeosang turns his head back to look at wooyoung as he walks down the hall.

"okay!" wooyoung shouts back, giving yeosang a small wave as he rounds a corner and disappears out of sight.

letting out a sigh, wooyoung enters the classroom already half full with restless students. he sets his bag down beside his as he sits down in a seat near the back of the class. he watches as the room fills up more and more until, finally, the professor enters and puts the class to silence.

"welcome to the first class of developmental psychology this semester." the professor was the same one that did their orientation on the first day, lee seoyun. "i'll quickly go over what we'll be studying this semester and then we'll get started right away."

wooyoung yawns and stretches his arms as he watches the students file out of the classroom, one by one. his eyes land upon a certain blonde as he walks out the door, followed by his best friend, both completely oblivious to wooyoung sitting in the back of the room. wooyoung scrunches his nose. he still hasn't been able to thank san for that night. right after they got back to the cabin, wooyoung was instantly snatched away by yeosang. the two haven't seen or spoken to each other since then.

wooyoung may not like san, but he's still someone to acknowledge an act of kindness. to be honest, he doesn't like owing people, and so, he always tries to return the favour as quick as possible.

wooyoung decides that the next time he runs into the taller blonde, he will give him his most sincere thanks.

"hey yeo, i'm finished my classes for the day." wooyoung smiles as he finishes dealing his friend's number, who picked up right away.

"good, go straight home. okay?" yeosang's quiet voice sounds from the phone.

"okay, i'll hang up now since you're still in class."

"okay. i'll see you back at the dorm, woo." yeosang hangs up the phone after responding.

the first week of classes has been an eventful one for the roommates of 1117. their professors had already given them piles of homework to work through every day. it's safe to say that the roommates were exhausted.

wooyoung, being the perfect student that he is, had put his utmost effort into completing his homework as well as studying diligently. and, luckily, his hard work paid off today. the professor of his developmental psychology class had given the students a surprise pop quiz.

after her announcement, the classroom filled with the sounds of students groaning. the other classmates hadn't been as prepared as wooyoung and it showed.

"take one and pass it on." professor lee handed out the papers to the students in the front of the class.

wooyoung had practically made the seat in the back corner of the class his own. and since he was there, no one else dared to sit in the same row as him. so, unfortunately but expected, no one wanted to hand him his paper.

wooyoung walks up to the people in the row in front of him and takes his paper by himself, giving the students a quick nod before returning to his seat.

wooyoung smiles to himself as he sits down and looks over the first page of the pop quiz. it seems that his efforts came into fruition, most of the topics were ones he'd studied.

"does everyone have a pencil or a pen?" professor lee's voice comes from the front of the room.

the students all unenthusiastically say yes.

"okay, you may start the test."

wooyoung instantly starts jotting down his answers with one hundred percent confidence. the room was silent aside from the flipping of papers and the sound of pens scratching against the flat surface.

wooyoung is the first to finish in the class, he walks up quietly to hand in his papers to the professor before awkwardly returning to the back of the room. not knowing what to do at this point, wooyoung scrolls mindlessly through his social media feed. he likes the occasional post from his friends, mostly ignoring the others.

wooyoung's sns profile was very plain. he hadn't ever posted anything except the things he'd been tagged in. his account stood at 52 followers, the same it had been since he was in high school, all 50 of them being distant relatives. the added two being seonghwa and mingi.

wooyoung closes his phone and flops hips head down onto the table in front of him. he closes his eyes, there was about 20 minutes left of class, maybe he should take a nap.

just as wooyoung feels himself start to doze off, his phone buzzes with a new notification. wooyoung instantly looks at it, assuming it was from yeosang. to his surprise, it wasn't.

choi3an has requested to follow you.

the notification sitting alone on his home screen was a follow request from choi san.

fuck.
