Kidnapped

Steve woke up in a van. It was very tight for one, like those galvanized square steel houses before their renovation. He laughed a bit. There were pieces of metal rusting everywere, like if it hadn't been taken care of. It also smelled like cigarettes.

To his relief, Mia, Louis and his uncle were with him. All of them had their mouths covered, but only his uncle was tied up. "Maybe because they think we are just children.", Steve thought. He looked through the windows to see the front segment of the car, and there were no policemen, just four guys. Then he noticed that there were four policemen outfits near him. After realizing that those were no real policemen, he tried to open the van's door, but he stopped because he thought they would notice his attempt to escape.

Time passed and everybody was asleep, so he tried to wake them up. He started with Louis. Steve shook him enough to wake him up but not enough to make the four men notice it.

"Louis... Louis... wake up", he tried to say, but nothing came out of his covered mouth. He kept shaking him until Louis slowly opened his eyes. Then he looked at Steve. After that, he sat down followed by him putting his hands behind his head and taking the cloth off. "Our hands are free, y'know?", he murmured. Steve tried to slap his face but he stopped him. "They will notice", Louis pointed out with a serious face. Then Steve took the cloth out of his face.

"Mia... uncle... wake up", they murmured, but they wouldn't. Louis also tried to wake them up, and Mia did. He took her cloth out and they all tried to wake Steve's uncle up, also trying to untie him.

When he woke up, he somehow untied himself. "Hey, how did you do that?", they all asked with an astonished face.

"Sorry I got you kids into this", he said with a sad face. "Let me explain... I work for the family mafia. I'm trained for this kind of situations", he explained, leaving them astonished. "WHAAAAAT!? THERE'S A FAMILY MAFIA!? That's so cool!", Steve thought to himself with an excited face. Louis looked at him with the same excitement. Steve knew he was thinking the same.

"Wait... are you... like... not afraid of me?", the uncle asked.

"No! Why would I be? It's so-", Steve tried to say, but Mia covered his mouth.

"Dont shout! They will hear you. Did you forget that we are being kidnapped?" She asked angrily. The van took a sudden turn and they all hit its wall. "Ouch!", Steve thought covering up his mouth.

They sat down again and started thinking about what could they do. Louis suggested to jump out of the van, but they all thought that it was too risky. Then, Steve's uncle decided to wait until they opened the van and follow them. He said that that was the safest option for them. Then he asked them to tie him up again and cover their mouths so they wouldn't suspect. And so they did.

And then, they waited... and waited... and kept waiting... but the van wouldn't stop.

Steve looked at Louis pointing at his fist. He understood that he wanted to play rock papers scissors to kill time. Steve won the first round with paper, but he lost the second one, that time using scissors. They kept playing for a long time.

Finally, after what it seemed an eternity, they stopped moving. They heard the four guys getting out of the van and how they approached the door. Their footsteps sounded wet. "Maybe we are in a forest or a swamp", Steve thought, but what he was sure of is that they weren't near a city.

They opened the door. They saw 4 people, 3 men and a woman. One man and the woman were smoking. They were all wearing a black suit. The first man had a long black curly hair with brown eyes; The second one had a short black hair with the same eyes as the man before; The third man was wearing a fedora, so they couldn't see his hair. He had also blue eyes. Lastly, the woman had brown hair with a ponytail and was wearing sunglasses. "Who wears sunglasses in the middle of the night?", Steve and Louis thought. They almost laughed.

"Get out. Now.", demanded the woman with a rough voice. They all did as she said.

When they got out, they saw a mansion. The biggest they had ever seen, but it was in a really bad state, like it could fall apart in any second. It was also surrounded by trees. "Why is there a mansion in the middle of the forest?", Steve thought at the same time that Louis was wondering why the mansion could hold on in such a bad state, while they were forced to get into it.

As they entered the mansion through the broken door, they noticed that there was nothing but weapons: pistols, rifles, snipers, even katanas. They kept walking until a trapdoor was visible in the ground. Then the woman looked at one of the men and he opened it. There were stairs that went to the underground.

The underground was like a labyrinth. Full of stairs and hallways. "Are we walking in circles?" Louis thought, then realizing that the walls weren't the same as before. Steve looked at the ceiling. "What are these metal things? Are they dividing each room?" He wondered. Mia was calmer than before and Josh was untied but the woman had a gun stuck to his head ready to shoot if he made a sudden move.

They kept walking until they were in front of a huge door. "These must be the boss' room", the two kids thought. To them, this felt like an awesome experience. Like a tour. They were enjoying it.

The woman knocked at the door. "We are here, boss" She said waiting for an answer. "I knew it!" They both thought at the same time.

The door suddenly but slowly opened. It was a huge office. The office had katanas and guns in the walls, with a huge statue of a horse behind a desk and a chair. The chair slowly turned around. There was an old man. He had white hair with a huge beard. The man had blue eyes, a black suit and a red tie. You could know that his suit was of great quality just by looking at it.

"Josh, we meet again" The old man said looking at him with his piercing eyes. He made a sign with his hand, which was followed by the other men taking out the cloth that was covering Joshe's mouth. They also tied up the hands of the three kids.

"So, why am I'm I here, Sith?" Asked Josh.

"Hey Josh, don't call me that. You can call me by my name. Aren't we buddies?" The old man said with a playful voice.

"Why am I'm here? You dragged kids into this so there must be a good reason." Insisted Steve's uncle again with a rougher tone.

The old man sighted and said: "I didn't want to get to this part yet.".

"The Sith and Sepheth families have been in war from the very beggining. We have fought for years, decades, centuries, even millenniums. We have fought in countless worlds. We don't even know when this battle for power started, so everyone in the Sepheth familly is an enemy of mine.", he explained.

Then he paused for a second and looked at Josh straight into his eyes and continued, "Josh... I know you from college. You became my best friend the moment I knew you, so the person that I least expected to be a Sepheth was you".

He paused for another second. Then he slowly stood up and grabbed a gun from the wall, and then he charged it with bullets. He started crying and shouted: "WHY JOSH!? I TRUSTED YOU! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BE A SEPHETH!? ARE YOU A SPY!?".

Steve's uncle remained silent, prepared for what was going to happen.

"Oh... So you choose to remain silent. Very well...", he said. Then he slowly moved his hand, aiming at Josh's head.

A look of terror appears in Steve's face. "Wait... this is for real!? Is he really going to kill him!?". Steve realized that this was not a game. He stood up and tried to run to where his uncle was but the men stopped him and threw him to the ground. He tried to stand up back, but two of the three men pushed him to the ground. Louis and Mia tried to not look. Josh looked at Steve straight in thr eyes and smiled. "Sorry for what will happen... Bye", Said Josh to Steve.

Then, BANG!. A sound that filled the whole room. Blood spilled in Steve's face. Everyone knew what happened. There he was, Steve's uncle, lying in the floor, dead.
