EEVEE

Eevee's heart fluttered with excitement as she took her seat on the grassy grounds, surrounded by her friends and fellow students. The atmosphere was electric, filled with anticipation for what the orientation assembly had in store.

As the headmaster stepped onto the stage, the crowd fell silent, eager to hear his welcoming words. His voice echoed across the garden, filling the air with a sense of magic and wonder.

"Welcome, students, to Starborne University," the headmaster began, his voice carrying a tone of authority. "I am delighted to see so many bright faces gathered here tonight, ready to embark on a journey of discovery and growth."

"Aw... He sounds sweet—" Eevee started.

"As you sit here before me, basking in the illusion of freedom and opportunity, allow me to shatter that delusion with a dose of reality." The principal continued to speak.

Eevee clamped her mouth shut.

"This university operates on a strict code of conduct, and let me make it abundantly clear: we have no patience for incompetence or insubordination." He spoke, his expression unchanging as he did so. "You are here to learn, to obey, and to conform. Any deviation from the established norms will not be tolerated. Disobedience will be met with swift and severe consequences. Do I make myself clear?"

The crowd was silent, stunned. Their eyes were wide as they looked around at one another in confusion. Eevee could feel the tension in the atmosphere, a stark contrast to the excitement and anticipation she had felt just moments ago.

The atmosphere had been welcoming and warm since their arrival, even until they had taken their seats here. But now, Eevee realized after feeding off the feelings that surrounded her, everyone felt everything but welcomed. And the principal's next speech explained that fact very clearly.

"I couldn't care less about your individual aspirations or dreams. Here, you are nothing but a cog in the machine, a pawn to be manipulated to serve the greater good of this institution."

So consider yourselves warned. This is not a place for the faint-hearted or the weak-willed. If you cannot handle the pressure, I suggest you leave now before you embarrass yourselves further.

With that said, I begrudgingly wish you luck in your academic endeavors. You'll need it."

Then, he introduced himself by his name, "Benjamin Philip Blevins", and began announcing how the next few days were going to look like for the students. Afterwards, he adjusted his coat and turned his heel, stepping off the stage. Now, the professors began to introduce themselves as tables laden with food appeared seemingly out of thin air, adding a touch of magic to the proceedings. The scent of delicious dishes wafted through the air, tantalizing the students' senses and sparking murmurs of excitement.
