EEVEE
The rest of the party dragged on for Eevee, and she spent most of her time brooding at the table that her group sat at. Her previous encounter with Finn had crushed her mood, and the interaction played in her mind like a broken record.
"What did he mean by 'ancestral rivalry'?" She sighed as she sunk her head into her arms, resting on the table.
Did he have something against the Hales? That didn't seem possible, nobody hated the Hales. And he was good friends with Joey too, so it didn't make sense to her that she was the only one Finn seemed to dislike.
Then, her heart sank as a thought came to her.
If it wasn't the Hale family that Finn hated, then would it be Eevee's biological family?
Panic-stricken, Eevee jumped up and looked around. Why didn't she realize this before? She hated herself for being so dense. Either way, she now knows that Finn definitely knew something... Perhaps he knows her parents, and where they lived.
With a hopeful heart, she looked through the gathering of people for a glimpse of his pale hair, her heart pounding so loud she thought it would jump right out of her chest. She began wondering what would happen if Finn did know about her parents — then what? Would she go looking for them?
"I will! I'll find them!" she gasped, jumping to her feet. "No matter what it takes! I've been waiting for this my whole life!"
"What? Pork Rib?"
"Huh?" Eevee stopped and turned to Julius who sat beside her, his head resting on the table and his eyes sleepy. Then, she caught sight of a young man in a tux standing before her with a plate of pork ribs, and his eyes were wide with surprise.
She realized that she had frightened the waiter with her bold proclamation.
"Oh- Sorry! I don't need any! Sorry!" Eevee quickly gasped, bowing her head in embarrassment. She sat back down and turned to Julius.
"So, you like ribs that much?" he teased, a soft smile on his face.
"Noo it wasn't that!" Eevee countered, shaking her head, her thoughts returning to Finn. "I just lost a chance to find out many secrets..."
"Oh, cool." He responded. "Hey, I think I'm gonna head back to the room and call it a night, do you have your keys with you?"
"Keys?" Eevee asked in a soft voice. "We have keys?"
Julius sighed and chuckled. Then, he reached into the pocket of his blazer and pulled out a single key attached to a thin chain, and handed it over to her.
