On the phone with Lando
Aurora got quiet. She took a second to realize what words had just left her best friend's lips.
Aurora: No, no you're not.
Lando: I'm pretty sure I know my own feelings better than you
Aurora: Lando-
Lando: I know- this is stupid, forget I said anything
Aurora: well- you've always had a tendency to be a bit stupid
A small chuckle left his lips.
Lando: that's true, I know you're with Charles and you guys seem happy.
Aurora: eh you could say that- it's been a bit awkward lately but we're not changing the subject. How long have you felt this way?
Lando: uh I guess I've always had a hunch but seeing you again after those years made me come to my senses? I've been way too jealous of Charles lately.
Aurora took a second to answer: I- was in love with you too
Lando: you were?
Aurora: but that was- before the crash and you left for racing
Lando: I didn't mean to leave you
Aurora: we've already talked about this Lando. I know and I don't blame you, I only blame myself.
Lando: I know I'm too late
Aurora: I am so so sorry
Lando: no don't be, it's okay. I might just need some time though. Now let's- not talk about that anymore.
When will you be back at the races?
Aurora: oh uhm I'm coming to Mexico, I'm sorry I haven't been around- there's been a lot going on
Lando: yeah I heard- Zac told me he gave you a few weeks off- what's up?
Aurora: so I've been going to a therapist
Lando: oh that's good to hear, I'm glad you're able to talk about it
Aurora: yeah- speaking of- my therapist- are you okay with meeting up in Mexico to talk?
Lando: yeah I mean you're with us that weekend right? I'll spend time with you
Aurora: just the two of us
Lando: yeah- oh of course- please don't tell me you're pregnant
Aurora chuckled: no!! oh god nonono, we haven't even done it
Lando did one of the biggest laughs in his life: HA right
Aurora was quiet on the other line.
Lando: you've been seeing each other for like 6 months and you're telling me- you know what it's none of my business and I'd be glad to talk to you in Mexico- to catch up.
