five years later.

Epilogue.

A sunny morning in Monaco.

Charles has been working on getting his pancakes just right. The exact amount of brown - also the perfect crisp. It was important to him. Why was this so important to him? Because; he was surprising his girlfriend with them and she likes them a particular way - mind you she's seven months pregnant.
He's been working on this recipe since he retired from the sport - half a year ago.

Once they felt right he put on some strawberries and bananas on top - you see; they've had some troubles with this pregnancy. She's not being able to keep the food she eats - barely sleeping as she's worried about things going on around them.
They tried to get pregnant for three years. They had given up - but somehow their angels made it possible for them.

"Hey goodmorning baby" He slowly made his way towards her bed as he softly spoke.

Even seven months pregnant and sleeping she's still the most gorgeous person I've ever met.

He likes her natural hair color, brown. And those goddamn curls. They somehow fall so perfectly around her face.
A few years ago she was blonde and between that she had even dyed it black but it was back to her usual self again.

"Mhmmmmorining" she smiled softly as she stretched. Her eyes met with his and she looked at the tray he was holding in front of him.
"Nooo you didn't! Charlie baby, pancakes?" She squealed a bit as she registered that he'd been making her breakfast.
"It's just the way you and him likes it" He nods proudly, putting down the tray on their bedside table. Charles leaned down to kiss her head, putting his hands on her stomach at the same time.
"I love you so much, thank you" She looked up at him and smiled.

"Have you slept okay?" She added as she grabbed the hands that were chilling on her belly.
Charles nods.

"Oui mon ange, did you?" He felt a small kick on his hand and he chuckled softly.
"Yeahh, he's been kicking like crazy but it's been alright. I also had a few dreams- but that's fine too" She sat up a bit better.
"What were the dreams about?" He tilted his head a bit to the left as he also sat down next to her.

"Oh you know- the usual- the accidents- the aftermath" She fiddled with her hand.

Man I really love her hands.

"Hey it's okay- he's gone. He won't hurt you again"

"Yeah I know-  I just wish my life could've kept on going as normal. Not having to hide- from him for four years" She sighed.

"Baby-" he started not really sure how to continue.

It's been a rough couple of years.

"You're here, you're alive. He could've killed you that day" He grabbed her hands now instead, caressing her burn marks carefully.

"And most still think I am dead! He just took way to much from me- I was ready to live life- it's not-"

"Fair. I know ma perle. He's gone now- do you want to- let people know what happened? Like start posting on social media again or maybe photograph? Do you think that'll help?" He pushed some hair behind her ear that had fallen onto her cheek.
