As she was told Aurora got up, almost running towards to bathroom to get ready.
The amount of guilt she felt for forgetting was overwhelming but the feeling of the water hitting her skin made her able to relax and breathe.

Downstairs she could hear a few people arrive as she was finishing up her makeup, now all she needed was an outfit - which was easier said than done.

By the time the photographer was finished she had downed three glasses of champagne - liquid courage you know?

Rose had really gone all in with this race watch party. Food, drinks - a big ass tv in her backyard.
Hm, fancy.

"Hey sleepyhead" Austin embraced me in a hug, he gently rubbed my back.
"You look great by the way, red for Ferrari I suppose?" He raised his eyebrows and gave me a soft smirk.
"It's good to see you, it's been a while! How are you?" I hugged him back, giving him a soft smile.
"I'm good, very good even. How are you holding up? I've heard that there's been a lot going on."
"Yeah... just tired- but it's good, I'm feeling better" I started to look around.

Damn Rose really knows a lot of people.

"Hiiii nice of you to join ussss" Rose approached me and gave me a glass of champagne.
"You're FINALLY wearing the red dress! WAIT, stop right there and SMILE" She grabbed my waist and Austin joined in as a photographer appeared out of nowhere to take pictures of us.
So we posed for the picture, then pretty much right away Rose let go of me.

Okay what was that?

"Come I need you to meet my parents and my brother!" She grabbed my wrist pretty tightly - pulling me with her, making me spill a bit of the champagne I held in my other hand.

"Rose wait-" I tried to make her slow down but she didn't listen.

How does one walk that fast with heels?

"Papa here's Aurora!" She looked at her parents in front of her, they turned around.
I smiled as their eyes met mine - holding my hand out to shake their hands.
"Oh, hello- I'm Terry" Her father shook my hand softly, and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
Her mother on the other hand, didn't shake my hand nor smile. Just introduced herself shortly.
"Monica" She held onto Terrys arm and turned away to tell him something.
"Monica is my father's new wife" Rose whispered low into my ear, I gave her a small nod.

Right. So not Rose's mother.

"It's nice to meet you Mr and Mrs Chez- "
"Oh please call me Terry- I feel very old being called Mr Chez" he chuckled softly, and one could tell that Monica forced a smile on her lips.
"So you're a photographer?" Monica tilted her head slightly when she asked.
"Oh yes, yeah I am a drivers- photographer thingy. It doesn't really have a name it sounds a bit weird" I chuckled and Terry joined in.
"You're very talented, I've seen some of the pictures you've taken of the Ferrari boys." He added.

"Oh so you're a Ferrari fan then?" I started to fiddle with the rings on my fingers.

"Yeah I guess you could say that- I knew Hervé back in the days- so when his son made it to F1 I always kept an eye on him"

"You knew Charles' father?" My eyebrows lifted in a bit of a shocked manner.

"Oh yes, I used to race him back in the 80s. A very nice man- but I stopped with that while he continued. We didn't hang out as much in the end, he had a lot to do with teaching his sons all he knew and I started wo-"

"Now he works in finance - making way more money than he would if he stayed in racing. Everybody had a dream back in the day" Monica interrupted, patting Terrys shoulder.

"Right- well it was nice meeting you Aurora. If you ever need something just give me a call, alright?" He gave me a light rub on my arm and I nod.
"Nice to meet you too Mr Ch- Terry" I smiled softly as I watched them walk away.

I turned to talk to Rose, but apparently she had walked away during the conversation.

There's so many people, where is she?

The race started, making everyone's attention turn towards the tv.

I felt a hand on my lower back.

"You're Aurora right?"

I nod.

"I'm Lucas-"

"Chez?" I turned towards him.

"Yeah, I'm Rose big brother. It's nice to finally meet you" I felt his eyes looking me up and down quickly.

"Nice to meet you- have you seen Rose?" I took a small step back to make the space between us a bit bigger. But his hand held me close.

"She's over there with Austin" he points towards them.

Great, they're all the way over there.

"You look gorgeous by the way"

Yeah thanks, now please let go of my waist.

"Thank you, I'm going to walk over to them. Nice meeting you Lucas" I gave him a quick smile and walked towards Rose and Austin.

I could feel his eyes follow me all the way over to them.

Please, not my best friend's brother.

Short chapter today! But another one coming out SOOOON! I've been on vacation but now I'm back aaand I'm going to try to wrap this book up.
