Noah Newman knocked on the front door of the Abbott House waiting for his girlfriend of three months to answer. He looked down at his Halloween costume, a fire-fighter, and wondered why Allie told him to wear it. His question was answered when Allie opened the door wearing a dalmatian costume, looking adorable. "Hey there!" His beautiful girlfriend greeted him.
It was a little cheesy, but this was the first Halloween in a long time that Allie had a boyfriend and she had always wanted to dress up in a couple's costume. The two were heading to the Halloween bash at the Grand Phoenix. Summer and Kyle would be meeting them later after taking Harrison trick-or-treating. Allie had also invited Sally and Adam to join them, but they declined due to Sally's pregnancy; she got tired very easily.
"Now I know why you asked me to wear this." Noah said entering Abbott House. "You look adorable, the cutest dalmatian I've ever seen." He looked her up and down enjoying what he saw. Allie felt herself blush at his compliment and was embarrassed; she was too old to be acting like this with a boy.
"Thank you. You look quite handsome yourself." She threw a compliment right back to him. "Just like the cover of a romance novel."
Now it was Noah's turn to blush, "You must be deliriously drunk to think that."
"Or a woman with two working eyes." Allie fired back. Noah didn't know how to respond to that so he just leaned down and kissed her. She eagerly accepted, throwing her full self into it. They would've kept going but the sound of stomping feet on the stairs made them jump apart.
"Uncle Noah! Allie!" A costume clad Harrison ran into the room. The young boy was dressed as a pirate complete with eye patch. He was clearly ready to take Halloween by storm.
"Hi Harrison." Noah greeted his nephew. Allie smiled at the boy; he looked so adorable.
"Are you coming trick or treating with us?" Harrison excitedly asked. "Please say yes, please please" the child begged.
The two twenty-somethings shared a look over Harrison's head. He was so excited, they didn't want to let him down, but their plans were non negotiable. Fortunately for them, someone answered for them.
"Harrison, your Uncle and Allie already have plans tonight." Summer appeared at the bottom of the stairs. She had her jacket on over her clothes so her costume was currently unknown. "Besides this was supposed to be our super fun family time. You can hang out with Noah and Allie some other time."
"Really?" Harrison asked excitedly; so excited he was practically bouncing.
"Of course. We'd love to hang out with you." Allie answered for the both of them.
"What have I missed darlings?" Kyle came sauntering into the living room donned in his captain Jack Sparrow costume. He threw his arms around a giggling Summer giving her a sloppy kiss.
"Not much, darling. Noah and Allie were getting ready to go out and our son is ready for trick or treating." Summer answered while trying to get her laughter under control. "But we've agreed that Harrison can have Noah and Allie time next month and that we'll see them later." She finished hoping that the other adults would take the hint. Thankfully, she got three nods so she started to shoo her brother out of the house.
"Okay, okay we're leaving." Noah threw his hands up. "Let's go Allie. Get lots of candy and hide it from your mother." He told Harrison before grabbing his and Allie's coats. Summer flashed her brother an annoyed glare but otherwise let it slide.
"Bye guys!" Harrison waved to the retreating young couple. After the shut the door he turned to face his parents. "Well can we go now?" He impatiently asked his parents. They giggled, but agreed and soon followed Noah and Allie out the door and into Halloween night.
