After the principal scolded us in front of the whole school, I waited in the classroom for the teacher to come in. Thankfully, not many students saw who Mr. Peterson was talking to. Although some asked me if the one laughing was Alexia. Her laugh is distinctive.

Class had started, and I was listening to the teacher when I heard Achilles' voice.

"Hey Nefeli, can I borrow a pen?"

I turned to look at him and saw he had that stupid puppy-dog look on his face.

"Don't lose it again" I said seriously and sarcastically before handing him one of my pens.

I don't want the kids to think I have a problem with them, but rather that they're the ones causing trouble.

"Thanks, kitty" he said with a dumb sideways grin, and I rolled my eyes as I turned back to the front.

The first period ended, and we went outside after the bell rang. I waited for Alexia to come out of her class so we could find the others together. When she spotted me, she started laughing.

Here we go again...

We walked toward the schoolyard, and at that moment, he was coming out of his classroom.

I wanted to kill her for embarrassing me in front of him, as much as I wanted to know what he said to his friend about me earlier.

"Tell me it wasn't Alexia who laughed during the assembly" said Max, ready to burst into laughter.

"She's the culprit!" Alexia pointed at me, laughing.

"What did she do this time?" Evelyn asked.

"I told her to turn around to check the g—"

"I didn't do anything! She was laughing on her own!" I interrupted her before she could say something stupid.

"Check who?" Sergio asked.

Alexia looked at me. I looked back at her. Seriously. I didn't want her to say anything.

I knew what would happen if the boys found out. Especially Max. I knew how much they would tease me. I already see what they do to Evelyn and Andrés. I know they're just joking, but... I wasn't comfortable talking about it yet.

Thankfully, Alexia got the message and carried on, smiling.

"Nothing, I just told her to turn around to see something and then started laughing by myself"

"I knew it was you. No one else has a laugh like yours" Eliana laughed.

During the next recess, before I could reach the others, Evelyn stopped me.

"Hey, Nef. Let's go together, you're going to the others, right?"

"Yeah"

"Everything okay? Is something up?" she asked with a smile.

"What do you mean?"

"Is there some... flirting going on?" she wiggled her shoulders playfully.

"Did Alexia tell you something?" I asked seriously as she also got serious.

"I thought we shared these things, Nefeli"

I sighed before speaking in frustration. "Why does she have to tell everything?"

"Come on, Nef. She cares about you. Even though she's worried, she told me you like some guy. And we all know how shy you are..." I knew where this was heading.

"So what, Evelyn? If I need your help, I'll let you know" I sighed and headed to the restroom.

Two minutes later, I went out to the yard and joined the others who were talking about something irrelevant. On the way to our classes, Alexia approached me.
