I'm gonna kill him!! He knows I know what will happen to Max if he ends up in the hospital, and he's using it to his advantage! And now what? Patch him up myself, or mess up his face even more??
"Yes, sir... He doesn't need to go to the hospital. I'll take care of him" I said, glaring at him with pure hatred as I spoke. He shot back a smug little laugh.
"Good. You're both excused for the day. Grab your bags and leave"
What?! Is he serious right now? I'm supposed to leave... with him? Someone kill me already!
We walked out of the office, me storming ahead toward the classroom with him trailing behind.
"Thanks, sweetheart, for offering to take care of me" he said, all smug and pleased with himself. I spun around to face him.
"It's just the two of us now, so don't kid yourself. We're grabbing our bags, and then we're going home—separately" I snapped.
"Do you really think I'm that dumb, beautiful? If you don't come with me, I'll tell Peterson. He'll send me straight to the hospital, and your buddy Max will have to start looking for a new school" he said, dripping with sarcasm.
"Oh, really? Well, I'll tell him you threatened me. Let's see who's hunting for a new school then" I shot back, my voice sharp with anger.
"And then your little situation will feel like crumbs compared to the hell your friend Alexia will go through" he sneered, flashing me a triumphant grin. My hand twitched as I imagined slamming it into his stupid face.
He had me cornered. No matter what I came up with to blackmail him, he always had something worse up his sleeve. I couldn't drag Alexia into this—I'd never forgive myself if something happened to her.
"You've got ten seconds to decide" he declared, his voice cold and calculating. My hands itched to hit him first, and then disappear off the face of the earth.
"Fine!" I relented, hating myself for it instantly. "But don't think for a second that you can boss me around" I added, standing firm.
"Oh, but I can, baby" he stepped closer with a revolting grin. Instinctively, I took a step back.
He laughed like he'd just confirmed I was scared—and was loving it.
God, how much I want to knock him out cold...
Turning away, I headed into the classroom to grab my bag. He followed suit, collecting his. We told the teacher inside that the principal had dismissed us for the day.
I caught Michael giving him a curious look and mouthing, "What happened?" but I didn't have time to see how Achilles reacted.
"And now?" I asked irritably as we walked down the hallway.
"Now we're going to my place so you can take care of the wounds that exist because of you," he emphasized firmly. "And we'll be all alone" he added with a wink, but my eyes widened in shock.
I had to admit, I was starting to get nervous.
Alone at his place... Maybe agreeing to this wasn't the best idea?
But I couldn't do anything. If I didn't go, Max would be in trouble. If I told the truth, Alexia would get dragged into this. And if I went with him... I'd be the one in trouble.
"You coming?" he asked, grinning as he headed toward the courtyard.
"You're awfully cheerful for someone whose face just got wrecked" I retorted sarcastically as we left the school grounds.
