Now (2014)

I sit at the table watching as Libby dances away happily with her new husband. I like him, they're cute together so it's nice to see her like this. Jake was really 'the one' since high school. Even though they dated briefly but then decided to date others after the summer I spent with them in 99, they soon realised they were made for each other after college and that was that.

Romantic.

I wish I could have a story to tell like theirs, however my dating history is pretty boring to say the least - it's like the normal story with how my boyfriend Daniel and I met. We were at a bar, we got talking, had a few drinks, swapped numbers and here we are three years later, living together. He couldn't be here though, work needing his as always. That's what you get when you work for a banking firm in London. All work and no play, even if the pay is good.

In some ways I was secretly hoping that Chris would be here, but according to Libby he wasn't able to make it, filming for the new Captain America film apparently. Yeah, you heard. He only went and got famous - and even hotter...

After the summer I spent with my cousins I didn't really see him when I went back the following years after, he was either at auditions or away. I didn't even know just how big he'd become until 'Not Another Teen Movie' came out and Libby told me to watch. Needless to say I was surprised and since then I've been somewhat stalking his career.

Boy has he made a name for himself.

His mum and siblings were at the wedding though, in fact I spent half the time talking to Scott and catching up with him. The evening guests are arriving now so the party is certainly getting started, and with a free bar? I'm going to take full advantage of it.

"I got cocktails!" Scott now proudly sets a tray filled with different coloured drinks and tiny umbrellas down onto the table.

"You're an absolute babe". I grin and take what looks like a Cosmopolitan from it.

Scott checks his phone. "Be right back, don't let Libby steal any". He warns and I promise as he goes outside, leaving me looking like an alcoholic.

I sip the cocktail and toy with the umbrella, wondering why everyone is suddenly looking and then hear Libby squeal with delight. I look up and try to crane my neck but can't see what's happening, just the white of her dress through the people that have filled the room, but as some move she's talking to somebody.

Shit...

As I watch she now looks around and then spots me, pointing to me.

It's him...

He's here, hence the guests all talking and looking.

I quickly look down and pretend I've not seen him although it's pretty obvious that I have, but now as he's talking to a few people including Cody, it'll probably be a while before he gets to me.

Wrong!

"Tam?"

I look up, and it's like falling in love all over again like the bittersweet sixteen year old I once was. He looks so good in just a shirt with a couple of buttons open so I get a slight glimpse of his chest, and some formal trousers. He most likely has loads from premieres. "Hi Chris", then I notice all the drinks in front of me. "These aren't all mine by the way... Scott brought them".

He grins and I melt inside. "I guessed as much, you look great, Tam".

"So do you, are you still modelling for Mystery Date?" I decide to break the ice a little more and he groans, but still keeps the cute grin on his face. Behind the eyes he's still seventeen to me.
