Y/N pushed open the front door and stepped into the house, her backpack slung over one shoulder. The house was quiet except for the sound of a television in the living room. She kicked off her shoes and headed towards the source of the noise, finding her siblings, Heather and James, sprawled on the couch, engrossed in a cartoon.

"Hey, guys," Y/N greeted, dropping her backpack onto the floor and collapsing into an armchair. "How was your first day at school?"

Heather, her younger sister, looked up with a bright smile. "It was pretty good! I made a new friend in my class. Her name is Emma, and she's really nice."

"That's awesome, Heather!" Y/N said, glad to hear her sister had a good day. "What about you, James?"

James, her younger brother, tore his eyes away from the screen and shrugged. "It was okay. I didn't get lost, so that's something."

Y/N chuckled. "That's definitely a plus. Did you meet anyone cool?"

James shrugged again. "I guess. There's this kid named Max who's into the same video games as me. We might hang out sometime."

"That sounds great," Y/N said, leaning back in her chair. "I'm glad you both had a good day."

"What about you?" Heather asked, sitting up and turning her full attention to Y/N. "How was your first day at Woodsboro High?"

"It was pretty interesting," Y/N replied, thinking back to the day's events. "I met a bunch of new people. There's this guy named Stu who helped me find my way to my first class, and Tatum, a girl in my English class, invited me to sit with her friends at lunch. They were all really nice."

"That's cool," James said, looking genuinely interested. "Do you think you'll be friends with them?"

"I hope so," Y/N said with a smile. "They seem like a fun group."

The three siblings chatted for a while longer, sharing stories about their day and laughing at each other's anecdotes. It felt good to unwind together after the first day of school.

As the afternoon wore on, Y/N glanced at the clock and realized it was almost time to start dinner. "Okay, I think we should get started on dinner. Mom and Dad will be home soon."

Heather and James nodded, and together they headed to the kitchen. Y/N rummaged through the fridge and pantry, deciding on spaghetti for dinner. She put a pot of water on the stove to boil and handed Heather and James tasks to help with the meal preparation.

The three of them worked together, and soon the kitchen was filled with the delicious aroma of tomato sauce and garlic bread. Just as they were setting the table, the front door opened, and Ava and Josh walked in, looking tired but happy to be home.

"Hey, you three," Ava said, smiling as she set down her bag. "Something smells good!"

"We're having spaghetti," James announced proudly.

"Y/N, Heather, and James made dinner," Josh said, ruffling James' hair. "Thanks, kids."

They all sat down together, enjoying the meal and sharing stories from their day. As they ate, Y/N couldn't help but feel grateful for her family. Despite the challenges of starting over in a new town and school, she knew they had each other, and that made everything easier. (Ghost face is going to attack you guys this chapter isn't done yet).

As the evening wound down, Y/N and her family settled into their nightly routines. After dinner, they spent some time in the living room, chatting and watching TV. Soon, the clock struck ten, signaling bedtime.

“Alright, everyone,” Ava announced, stretching her arms over her head. “Time to get ready for bed.”

Y/N headed upstairs, followed by Heather and James, who were yawning and rubbing their eyes. She changed into her silky pink dress for pajamas, feeling the soft fabric against her skin. She brushed her teeth and washed her face, then made sure Heather and James were tucked in before heading to her own room.

“Goodnight, you two,” she whispered, giving each of them a kiss on the forehead. They murmured sleepy responses, already drifting off.

Back in her room, Y/N climbed into bed and pulled the covers up to her chin. She reached over to turn off the bedside lamp, plunging the room into darkness. The house was quiet, save for the gentle hum of the air conditioner and the occasional creak of settling wood.

She was just beginning to fall asleep when a faint noise caught her attention. She sat up, listening intently. It sounded like a rustling outside her window. Her heart began to race, but she told herself it was probably just the wind or an animal.

Trying to shake off her unease, Y/N lay back down, but the sound persisted, growing louder. Suddenly, there was a soft tap at her window. She froze, her breath catching in her throat. Summoning her courage, she slipped out of bed and cautiously approached the window.

She pulled back the curtain just enough to peek outside and saw nothing but darkness. Relief washed over her, and she let the curtain fall back into place. But as she turned to go back to bed, a shadowy figure loomed behind her.

Before she could scream, a gloved hand clamped over her mouth, and she felt a cold blade pressed against her throat. Her eyes widened in terror as she recognized the ghostly white mask of Ghostface.

“Don’t make a sound,” the voice hissed, sending chills down her spine.

Y/N’s mind raced. Her family was asleep, unaware of the danger lurking in the house. She had to find a way to warn them. Summoning all her strength, she stomped down hard on Ghostface’s foot, causing him to momentarily loosen his grip.

She broke free and darted towards the door, her heart pounding. She flung the door open and ran down the hallway, screaming, “Mom! Dad! Help!”

Ava and Josh burst out of their bedroom, alarmed by Y/N’s cries. “What’s going on?” Josh demanded, his eyes wide with fear.

“Ghostface!” Y/N gasped, pointing back towards her room. “He’s in the house!”

Without hesitation, Josh grabbed a baseball bat from the closet and rushed towards Y/N’s room. Ava quickly called 911, her voice shaking as she explained the situation.

Meanwhile, Heather and James had woken up, their faces pale with fear. Y/N hugged them tightly, trying to reassure them even though her own heart was still racing.

Josh reached Y/N’s room, bat raised, ready to defend his family. But Ghostface had already fled, the window wide open, curtains billowing in the night breeze. Josh scanned the room, his grip on the bat tightening, but there was no sign of the intruder.

Sirens wailed in the distance as the police arrived. Officers swept through the house and surrounding area, but Ghostface was nowhere to be found. They took statements from Y/N and her family, assuring them they would do everything they could to catch the perpetrator.

As the officers left, Ava wrapped her arms around Y/N. “We’re safe now,” she whispered, but Y/N could hear the lingering fear in her voice.

That night, Y/N and her family slept in the living room, close to one another for comfort. The memory of Ghostface’s attack lingered in Y/N’s mind, but she drew strength from the presence of her family. They had faced the terror together, and she knew they would protect each other no matter what.

As she lay on the couch, surrounded by her loved ones, Y/N vowed to stay vigilant. They might have been shaken by the night’s events, but they were not broken. Together, they would face whatever came next.
