LILLIAN FELT A nudge on her shoulder but her eyes wouldn't open. Through her thin layer of sleep, she could feel a booming headache. She didn't want to wake up.Then there was another nudge, "Aye. Lillian. Wake up." The voice familiar but everything was still fuzzy. "C'mon." He skinned her off the blanket, throwing it back onto the floor. That seemed to wake her up as she let out a distressed hum, circling into a ball. The obnoxious headache now being her main problem. "Lillian." There it was again. It was Daryl. Lillian took a deep breath in a she turned her front half of her body back to look at Daryl. Her eyes barely opened, too bright.
"What?" She breathed out, moving a hand up to hold her head.
"Take these. Now." Daryl demanded, holding out a hand of a couple of pills. Lillian frowned at his rudeness, adding this to her list of problems. Someone's popped Daryl's lid already. She pushed herself up, rubbing an eye as she reached for her blanket again. She pulled it over herself before she looked back towards Daryl and took the pills from his hand. She took the pills, grabbing the glass of water that sat on her nightstand. As she swallowed, she looked back at Daryl confused. He was ready to go just like when he had woken her up yesterday.
"Where you goin'?" She asked, her voice raspy which she wasn't expecting. She lifted the cup back up to her mouth to finish the water.
"You ain't comin'." He told her as he grabbed the empty cup from her. "Ya remember yesterday?" Lillian licked her lips as she thought back. She remembered skipping school, and then going to a party with Mikey... she didn't actually remember anything after getting to that house. Her heart rate picked up slightly as she shook her head. Daryl scoffed. "Ya best have the truth when I get back." He turned to walk away but Lillian was quick to jump up from the bed, stumbling slightly from being light headed but still grabbed onto Daryl's hand. He was quick to stop and look back at her.
"Why are you mad?" She asked him, innocently. Maybe if she lied her way around it he would think it was just a dream, whatever happened.
Daryl furrowed his eyebrows at her as he moved his hand out of hers. "You ain't remember all that partyin', all that skippin' school. Oh, how 'bout that, "I'm never gonna drink again." bullshit. Ya remember that too?" He sassed, throwing an arm up. Lillian bit her lip as she took a step back, intimidated by Daryl's voice raising.
"I just— I wanted to be cool. I wanted to fit in with them." Her voice small as she looked down at her feet.
"Fittin' in with them douchebag kids? They ain't cool, Lillian." Daryl's voice laced with disappointment as his volume lowered. Lillian felt tears prickle in her eyes as she looked back up at him but barely, only angling her face up slightly.
"I didn't know what else to do." Her voice cracking slightly.
"It ain't like you didn't have options— actually goin' to school, goin' to the party with Rick 'n Carl, hell you could've even came by your sister's house. Ya didn't." He listed off, holding up a finger for each one and pointing at it with his pointer on the opposite hand.
"I just wanted to have someone!" Lillian raised her voice, finally looking completely up at Daryl. "I wanted to have someone like Athena has Colton, like Maggie has Glenn, Like Abraham has Rosita."
Daryl scoffed. "Ya wanted a boyfriend? What that kid Mickey—"
"I wanted a friend that wouldn't leave!" Lillian raised her voice even louder as she interrupted Daryl. He was taken back by her yelling, leaning back slightly as his face softened by only a little. She took a small breath, relaxing as she pulled at the bottom of her shirt. She felt nervous as she waited for Daryl's response.
