Lily POV:
Today is the day that I go back to Hogwarts. I am starting my fifth year and I was chosen as the female Gryffindor prefect. I am excited for my new responsibilities and even more excited to work with Remus Lupin, the male Gryffindor prefect. We have a lot in common and he is very friendly and fun to talk to.
I take a breath as I run towards the wall between platforms Nine and ten. I know that nothing happens, but it is still scary to run at a wall at full speed. I close my eyes as I cross through it. Then my senses are flooded with new but familiar smells and sounds.
I open my eyes and I see the scarlet train. I smile widely as I realize that I am going back to my favorite place on earth. I think about all of the new things that I am gonna learn and the new friends that I will meet.
"L-L-L-Lily!!" my thoughts are interrupted by an irritating greeting. I sigh as I turn around to see Sirius Black smirking at me with Peter Pettigrew right behind him.
"Sirius." I greeted him coldly.
"No need to be so cold Evans, I was simply gonna ask you if you have seen James yet." he says confidently. Gosh, I hate him so much and James Potter as well. They are both so arrogant and rude. Not to mention they are always bullying my best friend Severus. I look at him with disgust before I reply.
"No, i haven't seen him, although i am surprised that i haven't yet considering how big his ego is.'' I spit back cheekily.
"Ouch, why so harsh Evans? Prongs have never done anything to you to deserve that." he says feigning being offended.
"Maybe not to me but you know darn well what he has done to Severus to deserve such remarks!'' I argued back. "And don't say it was an accident either! I don't want to hear either of your excuses!'' I turned around swiftly and walked away to find Severus or Alice.
Sirius POV:
"Nope, she still hates you Prongs." I say with defeat. James appears from under his invisibility cloak and sighs.
"Darn, I was hoping that she would come around over the summer. I guess not." James says sadly.
"Why do you still fancy her anyway? All she does is insult you and defend Snivellus.'' I ask bitterly. I admire James Potter for a lot of things but his crush on the one girl that despises him confuses me.
"I dunno, there is something about her, you know?" he says while looking in the direction that Lily had stormed off in.
"Give it a rest Prongs, she will never come around.'' I begged him, but something in his eyes told me that he wasn't listening.
"Come on, let's just go find a compartment." James says grumpilly.
Lily POV:
I walk into the prefect compartment to find Remus already there reading a book. I don't blame him, it is more quiet here than anywhere else. I clear my throat to get his attention.
"Oh, hey Lily!" he says as he looks up from his book. "Are you looking forward to perfect duties?" he asks cheerfully. I shrug in response.
"Sure i guess, just not the midnight patrol around the castle." I say casually. Remus laughs and indicates for me to take a seat to which I agree.
"I agree, being up until the late hours is not my favorite thing either." he agrees as i sit down next to him. For the rest of the train ride we talk about our summers and what new book we have read. He mentioned that he had picked up a few muggle fairy tales which I was excited for him to read. I told him about my awkward family reunion and how awful my sister was.
