POV: Vi

I shook my head and listened to the two women talking behind me as I walked to The Last Drop with determination in my steps.

I couldn't believe Dina was alive.

She was alive

She was alive and she was walking right behind me!

I could hear her rumble positively every time the enforcer giggled at something she said.

The enforcer actually giggled...

The woman hadn't even cracked a fucking smile when talking to me.

I should've been jealous that they were getting close, but...

I wasn't.

It was...

Weird.

That feeling low in my belly was there, but twice as powerful now that Dina was with us.

I shook my head again.

I needed to keep my head in the game.

"So? Where are we going?" The enforcer asked.

"The Last Drop. Vi is no doubt going to get in some trouble. Because trouble is the only thing in The Last Drop now." Dina explained angrily.

"And you didn't fucking do anything? You just let Silco take over our home?" I asked just as angry.

Dina rumbled dangerously.

"Morgana, I did as much as I could, Vi. You may not know this, but I have considerable influence within the Undercity, within Zaun now. People depend on me just as people depended on Pop. Probably even more than Pop. I choose my battles. This was a battle that I couldn't win. The Lanes are Silco's territory now." Dina snarled, anger lacing her voice.

I scoffed at Dina, but I didn't reply to any of that.

I was too angry, and I was just going to take it out on her.

"What do you mean you have considerable influence in Zaun, Dina?" The enforcer asked.

She sounded interested in that and frankly so was I.

We were almost there, but I wanted to hear the answer to this question.

"Zaun is in the middle of a civil war." Dina answered vaguely.

"And who is Silco fighting against?" The enforcer pushed.

"Me." Dina answered.

I stopped walking and slowly turned around to meet Dina's gaze.

"You? What the fuck do you mean you, D?" I asked, confused.

"A lot has changed since you've been gone, Vi." Dina said as she patted my shoulder.

Dina then turned to the enforcer.

"We should split off, Princess. If I know Vi, she'll need backup for this upcoming fight." Dina said, her insinuation pissing me off.

"I fucking don-"

I tried to say, but Dina cut me off.

"Stop. Don't argue with me, puppy. You will need backup. I can't be there. To many eyes and mouths that will be talking of my being here already. So, you need someone to watch your back. But... if the fight goes south... I'll step in... safety be damned." Dina said with a toothy smile.
