As I carried Vi through the ravine, the wind howled, but I was like an impenetrable stone that couldn't be moved by anything.

Purple neon lights were the only source of light that lit our path

I looked back at Caitlyn, and she was trailing behind us, looking for threats that were hot on our trail.

I knew where we were going.

Down in the depths where no light shined and the forgotten hid.

This was the only place I could think of that would be able to hide us.

I didn't have any way to contact Ekko.

Maybe, we should talk about that when I get back...

"Silco's goons aren't far behind." Caitlyn said as she eyed from where we came. "We have to keep moving."

The enforcer wasn't wrong.

I could hear their footsteps getting closer and closer.

I could have shifted into my lion form, but I didn't want to make Vi's injuries any worse than they already were, but maybe it would be good to get somewhere faster...

I just got Vi back and I was already losing her.

It was like that nightmarish day all over again...

"What the hell is that?" Vi asked as she looked toward the glowing neon.

"The sign?" Caitlyn asked confused.

I could understand Vi's confusion.

"It's Zaun. Or... Silco's fucked up version of Zaun." I rumbled.

"And what's yours?" Caitlyn asked.

"My Zaun is one where orphans aren't common, where our people get paid fair wages, where we have clean air to breathe, where we aren't forced to take shimmer because we are desperate or want to feel something again, and most importantly my Zaun is one where no one is shackled by who they are." I said passionately.

"Sounds like a fucking pipe dream, D." Vi laughed bitterly.

"Except it isn't. Like I said before Vi... A lot has changed since you've been gone." I replied coolly.

"That wasn't-"

Vi started to say, but I cut her off.

"I have a plan to get us down without us having to jump if you both are fine with it?" I asked.

"Oh, shit... I haven't seen your other form in so long." Vi said excitedly.

"Her other form?" Caitlyn repeated.

I gently set Vi down and began my transformation.

It didn't take long.

I was soon on all fours and looked like a giant lion.

"Oh my..." Caitlyn stated, wide-eyed, she looked a little terrified, but she would get over it.

'Hop on. We go down now. Quickly.'

"What the? Are you- are you talking in our minds?" Caitlyn asked, stunned.

"Neat trick, D. Cupcake? We don't have time to gawk. We need to get our asses moving." Vi said irritably.
