I stand in front of the full-length mirror in my bedroom, adjusting the straps of my dress as I study my reflection. The deep royal blue fabric hugs my curves in all the right places, and the slit up the side shows just enough thigh to be daring.
My hair falls in wavy curls down my back, and the pair of black high heels on my feet complete the look. I look good, I know I do, but can't help but feel a small wave of nervousness wash over me.
I take a deep breath as I look at my reflection one more time. This is our first official date. The realization makes my stomach flip flop with a mix of excitement and anxiety. I've been on dates before, of course, but there's something about this one being with him that makes it feel special.
A knock at my door snaps me out of my thoughts, and I take a deep breath to steady my nerves. I smooth down the front of my dress and take one last look in the mirror before walking over to the door.
My heart pounds in my chest as I reach for the handle, and I take another deep breath before opening the door to reveal Vox standing there.
I lean against the door slightly as I smile up at him. "Hey." His gaze roams over my figure, taking in the blue dress and how it hugs me in all the right places. A smirk crosses his lips as he takes in my appearance. "Hey yourself." He replies, his eyes lingering on the slit up the side of my dress.
A small laugh escapes my lips. "My eyes are up here you know." His smirk widens as he meets my gaze. "I know, doll. But I can't help but admire the view." He replies, his eyes raking over me unabashedly. "You look stunning."
"I know I do." I grin at him. "Thank you." I reply after pausing for a moment. He grins at my confidence, his eyes sparkling with mirth. "Confident as always. I like it." He teases, reaching out to brush a strand of hair behind my ear. "You ready to go?"
"Mhm. I'm ready if you are." I say as my smile grows. "Let's go then." He says, smiling back at me. "I'm eager to show you what I have planned." He offers me his arm and watches as I take it, his smile turning slightly smug when my fingers brush against his skin.

We arrive at the aquarium restaurant, and I take in the sight of the colorful tanks and the various sea creatures swimming inside. The ambient lighting from the tanks casts a beautiful glow over the entire restaurant.
Vox leads me over to a secluded table in the corner, pulling out my chair for me to sit down. He takes his own seat across from me, his eyes roaming over my face as he watches me take in the surroundings.
"I completely forgot you own this place." I say, continuing to admire the building. A satisfied smirk forms on his lips as he watches my eyes sparkle in awe. "I figured this place would be perfect for our first official date." He says, his gaze never leaving my face.
"Plus, I get to look at your pretty face while surrounded by my sharks. It's a win-win situation, doll." My laugh fills the small area we're in. I remember when Vox started construction on this place years ago. He wanted to create a space for all of his sharks.
Vark and a few others are the only exceptions. Those few sharks he built tanks for in the tower. Vox grins at my laugh, clearly pleased with my reaction to the restaurant. "I take it you like it, doll?" He asks, a hint of satisfaction in his tone.
He watches as my eyes roam over the various sharks swimming in the tanks surrounding us. I glance back towards him with a huge smile. "I love it, Vox. Now I really want to go swimming though." He chuckles at my comment, his grin widening. "Of course you do. I should've known you'd want to swim with the sharks." He teases.
