I pop my head up from underneath the water as I hum contentedly. My tail swishes back and forth slightly to keep me afloat as I move to float on my back. The pool is quiet, the only sounds coming from the water lapping against the tile walls and my own steady breathing. I continue floating, my eyes closed as I simply enjoy the tranquility of the moment.
The cool water soothes my skin, and the gentle movement of my tail keeps me relaxed. My thoughts begin to drift, and I find myself lost in a peaceful haze. The water is like a second home to me, and being able to swim again feels like a small bit of freedom.
Swimming has always been a form of therapy for me, a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, if only for a little while. Time seems to blur as I float there, lost in my own thoughts and the soothing feel of the water.
I occasionally flick my tail, enjoying the feeling of its movement, before lapsing back into stillness. As far as I'm concerned, I could stay in this pool forever. The sound of my own humming fills the air, blending with the gentle swishing of my tail in the water. It's a soft, melodious tune, and the sound seems to echo around me.
I open my eyes to look at the tall, spacious, ceiling as my voice continues to echo in the room. My eyes trace the lines and patterns on the ceiling. This room has such nice acoustics. It's a shame it was made into a pool area, it would have been a lovey music room.
I can't complain too much, however, since my voice sounds lovely in here. I let my voice fade away as the last note of the tune rings out, leaving a moment of stillness. The room is silent again, save for the slight disturbance of my tail in the water.
As the silence stretches on, I begin to idly hum again, simply enjoying the way my voice sounds in this perfect acoustic space. The hum turns into a soft wordless song again, filling the air with a mesmerizing melody.
My eyes snap open as my ears pick up on the sound of footsteps. I turn off of my back and sink into the water, only letting my eyes peek out as u look towards the entrance.
My body relaxes slightly as Vox walks in. "Why'd you stop singing? I was enjoying listening to your voice." He smiles at me. "You could hear me, huh?" I ask, a hint of amusement in my voice, as I raise my head out of the water. "I didn't think anyone would be around to listen."
He chuckles, as he continues to approach the edge of the pool. He has an unusual look in his eye, like a love-sick puppy. "Hard not to. Your voice carries like an echo chamber in here, doll." I eye him as I pick up the fact he's acting more affectionate than usual. Shit. My powers probably had an influence on him depending on how long he was outside listening.
There's a sort of smitten look in his eyes, a softness that's a bit untypical of him. "How are you feeling?" I ask, tilting my head. He stops at the edge of the pool, his gaze still locked on me, a small smile on his face. "I'm feeling good, doll."
He pauses for a moment, his eyes continuing to linger on me. "Just enjoying the view." I laugh slightly. "Uh huh." I say with a smile. If I get him to jump in the water maybe the cold will bring him back to his senses. That usually works. He notices my smile, a flicker of amusement appearing in his eyes. "What's that smile for, doll?"
"Jump in the water." I beam as I spread my arms out. Vox chuckles as he shakes his head. "Valerie why? You know I'm too shy and terrified." I begin to laugh as well. "I would take the suffering from you."
"For you I would die but can't you let me stay dry?" I shake my head as my smile widens. I make my way closer to the edge before reaching my hand out towards him. "Jump in the water and kiss me." My grin widens as I see his mind going back and forth with the idea. Weird. Most people under the influence of my power don't have much of an ability to think out decisions.
