Taylor groaned softly, her stomach churning as she tried to take another sip of the broth Travis had lovingly prepared for her. The smell alone was enough to send waves of nausea through her, and she barely managed to get a few sips down before rushing to the bathroom, her body heaving violently."Taylor, you need to keep something down," Travis Kelce said, his voice filled with concern as he followed her. "You can't keep doing this."
Taylor sat on the cold bathroom floor, trembling and weak. "I'm trying, Trav. I really am. But it's like my body just rejects everything."
Over the past few weeks, Taylor's condition had worsened. She couldn't keep food down, and her energy was at an all-time low. Fainting spells had become alarmingly frequent, and her heart raced unpredictably, leaving her breathless and scared.
"I'm taking you to the hospital," Travis declared, his tone brooking no argument. He gently helped her up, his strong arms providing the support she desperately needed.
"No, I'm fine. Just give me a minute," Taylor protested weakly, but Travis was already leading her to the car.
The ride to the hospital was a blur for Taylor. Her vision swam, and she leaned heavily against the window, fighting to stay conscious. Travis drove with one hand while the other rested on her knee, his touch a small comfort amid her fear.
Once at the hospital, the doctors moved swiftly, running a battery of tests to determine the cause of Taylor's symptoms. Travis never left her side, his worry etched deep into his features.
Hours later, a doctor entered the room, his expression serious but compassionate. "Mr. Kelce, Mrs. Kelce we have the results of the tests. Taylor, you have gastroparesis and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, or POTS. This means your stomach muscles are not working properly, and your heart rate increases abnormally when you change positions."
Taylor stared at the doctor, her mind racing to understand. "What does this mean for me and the babies?"
"These conditions are manageable, but you'll need to be on strict bed rest. You'll also need a feeding tube to ensure you and your babies are getting the nutrition you need, and a heart monitor to track your heart rate," the doctor explained.
Travis nodded, absorbing the information. "We'll do whatever it takes to keep her and the babies safe."
Taylor, however, felt a surge of frustration and defiance. "Bed rest? Feeding tube? Heart monitor? This can't be my life. I can't just lie in bed all day!"
"It's necessary for your health and the health of your babies," the doctor insisted gently. "You need to take this seriously."
Back home, the tension between Taylor and Travis grew. Taylor struggled with the reality of her new restrictions. Every time Travis tried to help her, she pushed back, her frustration boiling over.
"You don't understand, Travis! I can't just lie here while life goes on without me!" Taylor snapped, her eyes blazing with anger.
"Taylor, I'm just trying to take care of you. We need to do this for the babies," Travis said, his voice tight with concern.
"I feel like a prisoner in my own body! I need to move, to do things. You can't expect me to just accept this!" she shouted, tears streaming down her face.
"No Travis you don't fucking get it I can't keep doing this want out!" Taylor yelled again now sobbing.
Travis knelt beside her, taking her hands in his. "I know it's hard, Tay. But we have to think about the bigger picture. This is temporary. We'll get through it together."
Taylor turned away, her heart aching with the weight of her new reality. "I don't know if I can do this, Trav. I feel so helpless."
"You can, and you will," Travis said firmly, his love for her unwavering. "We'll take it one day at a time. I'm here for you, always."
Travis finally gave in "Well why don't we make a doctors appointment and see what we can do...does that sound good?" He sighed.
Taylor nodded slowly.
Despite her defiance and the arguments that followed, Taylor knew deep down that Travis was right. She had to fight through this for herself, for Travis, and most importantly, for their unborn children.
