𝕽𝖚𝖓 𝕽𝖆𝖇𝖇𝖎𝖙 𝕽𝖚𝖓 -Yellow Jackets

𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓮𝓻 𝓞𝓷𝓮

Elizabeth's lungs were on fire as she ran. Keeping her eye on the ball, once Tai currently had. 
This was it. 
The game that determined whether or not they got to go to nationals. 
 Taissa had determination written on her face, but the opposing team had been closing in on her like predators closing in on their prey. 

"Tai!" Elizabeth yelled as she saw an opening. "This side! I got it Tai!" 
Taissa looks over, swiftly kicking the ball to the co captain. 
Elizabeth dribbled the ball a bit, picking up her speed to avoid a tackle. 
Her co captain Jackie was the closest to the goal, Elizabeth locked eyes with Jackie right as she had called her name. 

"Liza!" 

Elizabeth examined her options, this was risky, she knew that. 
She could practically hear Tai's berates if she missed the shot. 
If this was any other game, Elizabeth wouldn't even think about the current shot she was trying to make. 
But adrenaline coursed through her veins. 
 Clenching her jaw, with all the force she could she kicked the ball, watching as it soared through the air. 
 She watched as Jackie jumped, headbutting the ball, causing it to soar into the net. 

Roars of cheers from the audience as they scored. 
Elizabeth jumped and cheered, her team running up to her, screaming in celebration as they jumped up and down. 
 "Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!"
Elizabeth smiled as her best friend Natalie hugged her from behind. 
Hugging the bleach blonde back, Elizabeth couldn't help the wide grin that remained on her face. 
"We're going to Nationals Nat!" 
Natalie just smiled as the team continued to scream their lungs out.

The team had been in the locker room, getting ready for the pep rally. 
Elizabeth had been sitting on the counter, painting a bee on her cheek, glancing in the mirror as Jackie had been painting Allie's face. 
  Glancing back a bit further, she was trying to spot Nat, but she couldn't see her anywhere. 
Allie had been complaining about not being able to go to prom, making Elizabeth roll her eyes. 

"Jackie, coach Martinez needs to talk to you"  
Jackie looked up, glancing at her co captain then back at Misty. 
Handing the paintbrush to Van as she walked out, Elizabeth squinted her eyes. 
 "Don't panic Liza, probably just a silly pep talk that coach isn't bothering giving to you because you're killing it already" Van says. 
"Thanks Van" 

Allie continued to whine, making Van try her best to not roll her eyes, Elizabeth had to refrain from making any comments, letting out a sigh when Allie walks away. 
"Jesus christ" Van laughs as Elizabeth hops off the counter, fixing the yellow ribbons tied in the two French braids Van had put in her hair. 
"Allie needs to be less concerned about from and more concerned about not fucking up nationals" 
Lottie walks over, nodding her head in agreement. 
Tai shakes her head. "Don't worry, that's not going to happen" 
"It better not, my parents will kill me if we lose," 
Elizabeth adjusts her jersey, ignoring the stares Van and Tai had given her. 

"Sullivan" 
Elizabeth turned around, smiling as Natalie walked up to her, grabbing her hand, pulling her away from the other girls. 
"Nat?"
"Hm?" 
"No offence, but you smell like you broke into a liquor cabinet" 
Natalie just smiled, "Just figured I'd uh, loosen up a bit," 
Elizabeth looked at the bleached blonde, "Jackie's going to kill you," 
"Then it's a good thing I came to the 'cool' co captain," 
Elizabeth gave Natalie a bit of a stern stare. 
"Don't tell Jackie, please?" 
Elizabeth looked at her childhood best friend, smiling softly, rolling her eyes. "Fine," 

"Girls lets go!" Jackie yelled, 
"Showtime" Elizabeth says, Natalie smiling slightly.
