Elizabeth had been sitting on Natalie's bed, it was rare that they would hang out at Natalie's house, but today was a rare occasion.
Nirvana was playing in the background, textbooks were in front of them.
"I'm going to fail this test Lizzie, I don't even know why we are trying"
Elizabeth looked up from the practice test she had been grading of Natalie.
"I'll be dammed if you fail Nat. Besides..." she paused, handing Natalie her practice test with a 19/24 on it. "You're smarter than you think"
Natalie smiled as she held the practice test up, "So what? is this like 75%?"
"79 Nat, almost an 80" Elizabeth smiled.
Natalie's smile wiped clean off her face as she heard the sound of an engine and the sound of harsh boots walking up to the front door.
"Fuck, Elizabeth you have to go" she began, running to the window, but it wouldn't budge. In a hurry, she grabbed Elizabeth's arm, harshly shoving her into Natalie's small closet, quickly sitting on her bed as  her father swung open her door.
"What the fuck are you doing in here?" her father roughly grabbed Natalie by the arms, slamming her against her wall.
Natalie could smell the alcohol on her fathers breath.
"Nothing, I'm just doing homework." Natalie cried as her fathers grip tightened on her arms.
"Bullshit! Do you have boys in here!? Are you being a little slut!?"
"No I don't! I promise!"
Her father let the girl go, glancing around his daughter's room, glaring at the closet.
He made his way over, Natalie grabbing his arm.
"There's no one in there!"
"Don't fucking yell at me!" he exclaimed, his fist hitting harshly into the girls face, causing her to crash down to her floor.
When Natalie went to get up, her father responded by sending a harsh kick to her stomach.
He crouched down, grabbing the girl by the hair. "I thought we talked about not being disrespectful Natty"
Natalie glared up at the man. "Please, just leave me alone"
Her father glared at his daughter before roughly shoving her down. "Fine"
Slamming his daughters door behind him, he left the house.
Natalie waited until she heard her father's engine before she got up, heading to her closet.
"Oh my god Natalie, are you alright?" Elizabeth asks.
Natalie looks up at the girl with glassy eyes, she hugged Elizabeth tightly.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't think he'd come home-"
"Shh, it's okay Natalie, it's not your fault" Elizabeth gently ran her fingers through the girls hair, calming her down
"It's okay Nat, it's okay" she whispers as Natalie begins to cry. Elizabeth moves Natalie so her head is resting on her lap.
"I'm so sorry," she sobs as Elizabeth runs her fingers through her hair, massaging her scalp.

"Breathe Nat, you have to breathe love," she says as Natalie began to hyperventilate.
"In and out love, you can do it, in and out"

The team walked up to a cabin.
A Cabin.
Elizabeth grinned widely, a feeling of hope tugging at her.
The girls ran up, yelling, banging on the doors and windows, trying to get the attention of anyone who could've been inside.
It was all to no avail however, no one was in there.

Opening the cabin door, seeing the bare, abandoned cabin.
"Maybe they just went on a hike?"
"Yeah. Like a decade ago. It reeks in here"
Elizabeth looked around. "Guys, we should look for supplies, Food, tools, batteries, anything that could help"
The group nods, Jackie enters the pantry, coming out with a can of food, opening it.

"What the hell Jackie?" Taissa snapped. "That's not your personal buffet!"
Jackie gagged as she dropped the can that was filled with rotten food.
Elizabeth scrunched her nose in disgust, stepping back so the food wouldn't get on her shoes.

"See! This is why we should've stayed at the plane!" Jackie exclaimed, directing it towards Taissa and Elizabeth.
"Yeah, well we didn't" Van crossed her arms over her chest. "So, this is helping how exactly?"
Jackie shook her head, "This is a fucking nightmare," she cried before walking out the cabin.
Elizabeth thought about going after her, but decided against it.

"Don't worry guys. We might be stuck in the middle of nowhere, but hey, at least there's porn"
Elizabeth laughed and walked over, "Are you serious? Oh my god theirs so many" she says looking at the magazines.
Natalie picked one up, examining the cover as Travis walked over.
"Woah" Travis smiled.
"Yuck," Elizabeth whispered to Natalie, making the girl smile.
"This guy kinda looks like you, Flex" Mari teases.
"If only any of you actually looked like her"

"Oh, Haha" Van sarcastically says.
"Super funny, you should have a radio show" Elizabeth rolls her eyes.
"Do guys like actually jerk off to this stuff?" Akilah asks.
"Nah, we hate that shit. You know, you can't even tell what her favourite book is" Travis says, making Elizabeth have to hold back a laugh.

Mari flips him off as the boy walks away, Elizabeth looks down at the magazine.
"Ew, what is that?"
Natalie laughs at the girl, "I don't know dude" Van adds.
"I'm going to get some air" Natalie says, putting the magazine down.
"I'll join you...If that's okay?"
Natalie looks at the girl, "Obviously it's okay dork"

Elizabeth and Natalie walk onto the deck, Natalie leaning against the cabin.
"How are you holding up Sullivan?"
"Living the dream, you?"
Natalie nods, "Couldn't disagree with you more" she pauses, looking over at Travis and Javi.
"Oh god" she mumbles, Elizabeth turns around, watching as Travis putting his brother in a chokehold, yelling at him, forcing Javi to spit out the gum he had been chewing over the past couple days.
"Should we-"
Shh," Natalie holds her hand out.

Elizabeth watches as Natalie freezes.
The same way she use to freeze with her father.
Travis chucked the gum, Natalie still staying frozen, watching in shock.
Travis turns around and spots the two girls staring at him. He walks away, leaving Javi distraught on the ground.
Natalie takes a shaky breath, her hands beginning to shake slightly.

"Natalie?"

When the girl didn't respond, Elizabeth gently touched her arm, causing Natalie to flinch violently, her breathing still shaky.
"Woah, I'm sorry"
Natalie uses the cabin to help her sit down, bringing her knees to her chest.
Elizabeth sits beside her as Natalie tries to breathe, it coming out in choppy gasps.
When tears begin to stream down her face, Elizabeth gently takes the girl, resting her head on her lap.

"It's okay, deep breaths," she whispers, massaging the girls scalp.
Natalie sucks in a breath, exhaling it through her mouth, repeating  a few times, trying to get her breathing under control .
"There you go, good job love" Elizabeth cooed, still massaging the girls scalp and playing with her hair.
"What happened?" Elizabeth softly asks.
Natalie sighs, "It just...He reminded me of my dad. It's stupid."
"No it's not,"

Natalie sighs as she sits up, still remaining close to Elizabeth.
"Just the way Travis pushed him, I don't even know, it just made my head spin,"
Elizabeth took Natalie's hand, "I'm here for you. Whenever you need me Nat."
Natalie smiles, looking down at the girls silver star ring, "I know"

The girls snapped their head up when they heard Coach Scott begin to yell and scream.
Racing over, the paused when they saw him on the ground.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck you!" he yelled, referring to his leg. Turning to face the girls, he continued to yell, "What the fuck do you want!?"
Misty then walked over, trying to comfort the man. "Hey, hey-"
"What the- Get the fuck away from me!" he yelled, smacking Misty across her face.
Natalie stumbled back a bit, Elizabeth taking her hand, giving it a squeeze.

Misty went over to the man, holding him as he sobbed.
Mindy pet his hair as she tried to calm the man down, Elizabeth watched in shock at the breakdown happening in front of her.

~~~
When it became time for bed, Natalie set her blankets and pillows down beside Elizabeth.
"Can't keep away from me huh?" she teases.
Natalie rolls her eyes, "Whatever helps you sleep at night Sullivan"
Taissa had just walked in, convincing Lottie to come inside thankfully.
Elizabeth laid down, smiling when she saw the sweater Natalie put on.
"I can't believe you still have that sweater," she refers to the green grandpa sweater she had let Natalie borrow all those years ago.
"It's soft. Besides, I know you still have my leather jacket," Natalie smirks.
Elizabeth looks away, "It's nice,"
"Have a good sleep Lizzie" Natalie lays beside the girl.
"You too Nat"
