Elizabeth laid with Natalie in front of the fire, Natalie's arms were wrapped tightly around Elizabeth's waist, the two trying to use their body heat to help keep them as warm as possible.
They had been snowed in their cabin, running low on food and water supply, as well as the loss of Shauna's baby made the atmosphere in the cabin almost as low as the temperature outside.
She could feel Natalie's breath against the back of her neck, making the hairs on the back of her neck go up. Elizabeth drew shapes on Natalie's arms, really just trying to savor being held by her girlfriend.

"Lottie, what is it?" Taissa asks, Elizabeth looks over.
"The snow," Lottie says, "It finally stopped,"
Elizabeth and Natalie sat up, looking at the profit.
"It's moving!" Travis pulls on the door, some of the girls helping him pull it open.
An abrupt of cheers echo through the cabin as the door opens, a pile of white snow falling into the cabin.
"Shit," Natalie mumbles.
They all began grabbing bowls and buckets, grabbing the snow from outside.

"A snowball for your thoughts?"
Elizabeth looks up at Natalie who was a snowball in her hands, the two sitting across from each other.
Elizabeth shrugs, "I just, worried about Shauna. I really wish I could have done more to help the baby survive. I just... I just feel like I let everyone down,"
"You did everything you could, Lizzie. There was nothing else you could have done,"
"You know, the past couple months, I started giving Shauna my food, so the baby could get more nutrients. I started doing her chores, I, I was trying to do everything so the baby could make it, and he didn't,"
"You can't blame yourself, Lizzie. Even if he did make it, his mother would have been starving. As glib as it sounds, even if he had lived through the birth, I don't know if the baby would have lived. The mix of lack of food, the cold, all of it, this isn't a good environment for us, let alone a baby to live in,"
Elizabeth nods, "I know. I know that it's the truth and I think that's why it hurts so bad,"
Natalie sighs, "Shauna will be okay. It's rough right now, but it'll get better. Just, know that you have me, okay? Because, if it weren't for you, I don't think I would be alive,"
Elizabeth softly smiles, "I don't think I would be mentally sane if you weren't here,"
Natalie smiles, kissing Elizabeth's forehead. "I love you,"
"I love you more Nat,"

Elizabeth leaned against the wall, Misty had called a meeting.
"Look, I know we're all still very sad about the baby. It was a... a terrible, extremely sad, and-and tragic thing, but... we can't let it cloud our minds. The snow has stopped, and we need to go out there and we need to look for Crystal... because she could still be out there. Alive,"
"Misty's right," Coach turns around. "If Javi could survive a few months out there, then maybe Crystal could make it a few days,"
"But, what if the wilderness like, took her?" Melissa asks. "What if it took the baby too?"
"Then maybe it'll give us something back?" Gen adds.
"What?" Taissa asks.
"Like it made the blizzard stop," Akilah adds.
"That's the trade? Two people dead for a break in the snow?"
"God that sucks,"

"No, It doesn't work like that," Lottie begins. "It doesn't trade or hassle, it... the wilderness it hears us. It gave us what we wanted. Shauna lived. Might do the same for Crystal."

Everyone spent hours looking for Crystal, but there was no avail.
She was no where to be seen.

"How many books did you bring?" Natalie jokes, sitting beside Elizabeth.
"A few," she gave a cheeky smile.
"You dork,"
"A dork that you love,"
Natalie rests her head on her girlfriend's shoulder, "Now, I can't argue with that,"

Shauna walked into the cabin, not looking or talking to anyone.
Misty began to hum, Shauna turned around hot on her heels. "Why are you singing that?"
Misty stares at her, confusion displayed on her face.
"Where did you hear that song?"
"I don't, I- Uh, I think Crystal was singing it,"
Without warning, Shauna charged at Misty, punching her in the face.
Elizabeth shot up, "Shauna-"
Shauna shoved Elizabeth back harshly before Van grabbed her.

"You get back too! You guys killed my fucking baby!"
Natalie shot up, "Shauna stop! Lizzie and Misty did everything they could!"
"No shut up! You all ate my fucking baby! I saw you! You were covered in blood!"
"Have you lost your fucking mind!?" Elizabeth cried.
Shauna fought against Van, biting her in the arm.
"Ow! God she fucking bit me!" Van cried.

Elizabeth's hands flew to her mouth as Shauna punched Lottie in the face.
Natalie grabbed Elizabeth's arm, pulling her back as they both watched in shock.
Lottie just moved her hair out of her face. "Travis, take Javi to the bedroom," she puts her hands behind her back.
"Lott?"
"Shauna," Lottie's voice is a hushed grasp. "I know theirs a lot of pain right now, but let it out. Shauna we need you to let it out,"
Shauna doesn't hesitate to punch Lottie in the face, Lottie crashing to the ground with a thud.

Natalie put her hands on her forehead as Shauna began to beat Lottie up.
Elizabeth watched in horror, not wanting to look, but not being able to keep her eyes off it.
The punches kept going, over, and over, and over, and over.
Elizabeth looked to her girlfriend, distraught on her face.
It kept going, it felt like she had been watching Shauna punch Lottie for hours and hours.

Shauna finally rolled off Lottie, Lottie looked almost unrecognizable from all the blood and swelling.  Shauna panted heavily, slowly getting up, looking at Lottie.
"Lottie. Lottie!"
But she didn't move, she laid there still, Elizabeth couldn't even tell if she was breathing or not.
"Oh my god," Elizabeth whispers.
Lottie begins to choke on her own blood, spurting sounds being heard.
"Roll her on her side! She's choking!" Elizabeth exclaims.
Shauna just rolls her eyes, getting up.

Elizabeth rushed down to Lottie. "Get towels!"
"What the fuck!?" Natalie waves her hands.
