it's been two weeks since the game and nika has been on an emotional roller coaster to say the least. peyton has been hanging out with hailey everyday since the game. nika has yet to talk to peyton about it because she didn't want to seem insecure, so she stood off to the side. today everyone wanted to go to a near by fair that was happening so everyone was currently getting dressed. nika, peyton, ines, and aubrey were all getting ready at paige's, kk, azzi, and jana's dorm.
"yoooo"peyton called out from the living room and began walking towards paige's room where kk, azzi, and nika were all getting dressed. "what's up?"paige asked brushing her hair. "yall mind if hailey tags along?"peyton asked standing in the door frame staring specifically at paige. "uhm...sure?"paige said but kinda came out as a question. nika chuckled shaking her head and pushing past peyton walking out of paige's and jana's room to kk and azzi's room which was unattended since everyone was piled up in the living room or paige and jana's room.
peyton furrowed her eyebrows and looked at paige again who nodded her head towards the door signaling for her to follow nika. peyton took the hint and walked out into azzi and kk's room. once she got there she knocked on the door until she heard nika softly say come in. she opened the door and seen nika standing in the restroom doorway curling her hair with her face stained with tears. "what's wrong nika?"peyton asked closing the door and walking up to nika.
"nothing, just burned myself"nika shrugged off looking at peyton for a quick second and back in the mirror. "there is something wrong, you've been acting weird towards me for like a week."peyton said now finally standing in front of nika. "nothing p"nika repeated herself and watching as peyton took the curling iron from her setting it down on the counter. "talk to me nika, we've talked about this"peyton sighed scrunching her eyebrows together.
"when was the last time we've hung out?"nika finally asked looking peyton directly in her eyes. "like 2 days before my last game why?"peyton asked tilting her head back. "you've been hanging out with that hailey girl nonstop, she likes you p."nika said with her eyes starting to tear up again. "no she doesn't, she's just being nice nika."peyton furrowed her eyebrows now. "peyton you guys have been hanging out alone nonstop, and the one time you get spend time with friends you invite her!"nika semi shouted.
"well first quit shouting at me. second she told me she had a girlfriend."peyton chuckled. "and when has that ever stopped anyone? she's a known cheater peyton. she cheats in every relationship she gets in."nika said watching peyton's face twist up. "you're overreacting nika, she doesn't like me. i've hung out with you alone where was the problem then?"peyton asked raising an eyebrow. "we liked each other peyton! we still do! but you have yet to ask me to hang out, you don't even realize everytime i initiate our hangouts you blow me off because you've made plans with her!"nika shouted aggressively wiping her face.
"you don't ask to hang out with me."peyton shouted back. "i shouldn't have to! you should already know! you used to just walk into my room and tell me we had plans, now you literally just walk in to ask to borrow hoodies from me that hardly even fit you!"nika shouted. by now paige and kk had walked in but both nika and peyton were too deep into their argument to realize. "you're so fucking dramatic nika! you're literally the reason me and my own cousin got into it when i first got here!"peyton yelled walking closer to nika so they were now face to face.
"okay peyton."nika chuckled shaking her head. "okay? is that all you have to say?"peyton asked rolling her eyes. "what else do you want me to say to you? i'm not gonna beg for your attention anymore! you treat hailey more like a girlfriend than you ever have me!"nika yelled back. "maybe i will ask her to be my girlfriend since that's what you're so obsessed with! she literally doesn't give a damn about you nika! the world doesn't revolve around you cause guess what, the world is still fucking spinning!"peyton finally shouted back. her eyes widen when she realized what she said.
nika chuckled in disbelief before pushing peyton out the restroom door frame and slamming it. peyton turned around to finally see paige and kk staring at her. "what did i do?"peyton asked huffed throwing her hands in her head and sliding down the bathroom door. "give her some time p, i hate to admit it but everything she said was true. you pay for hailey's lunch everytime you guys go out, you literally paid for her makeup when you guys went to sephora."kk said.
"i was being nice."peyton mumbled into her hands. "yea but at a certain point it has to stop just at that, nika isn't overreacting, i know i would've acted the same way if this was me and azzi in this situation."paige spoke up walking towards her cousin. "i love her p...and i want her to trust me"peyton mumbled loud enough to where only paige could hear. paige eyes widen once she realized what her cousin said.
"peyton...tell her that! she doesn't know that."paige said now sitting in front of cousin. "im scared, i never meant to make her feel that way."peyton said finally looking up at her cousin. paige frowned once she realized peyton's face was red. "come on p"paige huffed standing up and pulling peyton up with her.
