"What?" I say as my eyes widened.

"They are ahead of us, they already have our deaths planned. We saw it in a notebook Mr Axel had in his room. " Caleb explained to me with Milo right next to him, with their fingers intertwined.

"Planned?" I murmured to myself. I felt my heart almost drop to my stomach. Their deaths were already planned. I didn't know what to say, I didn't know how to feel. They were going to die, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. In a matter of a few weeks both of them were gonna be dead.

"We need to get our phones fast. We don't have enough time left to figure who is with them. Not to mention they said it was unofficial; meaning it's a beta plan, still in progress. It could change." Milo countered determinedly, Caleb also had a determined look on his face. I couldn't help but feel my heart pounding against my chest. They were so determined and optimistic about this. Even though this could be the last summer of their lives.

"Where are the phones? Were they in Mr Axel's room?"

"No, we searched the entire room and didn't find any phones." Milo shook his head as he crossed his arms. "Meaning they're somewhere else. Also I'm positive Olivia isn't working with them. Not that that's important anymore."

Milo had a look on his face, a familiar look on his face that usually means he's thinking something. But of course he's thinking of something, he's the smartest between the three of us.

"You're thinking of something. What is it?" I slightly lifted my brow, he seemed to stop spacing out and realized what I said.

"Well, since Tori is seemingly close with Mr Axel, maybe she could convince him to extend the time of our deaths and give us more time to find our phones. Now that I think about it, on the next canoe day, Damien you should get in the canoe with Lisa and Brandon instead of Caleb, to avoid them shoving him in the water."

"Yea I'll-"

"Milo, what about you? You've got a plan for everything else, but how are you going to avoid yours?" Caleb asked sternly as his body faces towards Milo. I was confused, now that I think about it they didn't tell me how Axel planned their deaths to be. From context clues, I assume Brandon, Lisa and Caleb were going to be in one canoe and the two were going to push him in the water. Which wasn't gonna happen anymore.

But what was their plan for Milo?

Milo started to chew on the inside of his lip, and that's when I really started to worry.

"You don't have a plan for yourself, do you?" Caleb hissed as you could see his gaze becoming glassy.

"What did they have planned for him?"

"When we go hiking again, Mr Axel planned to kidnap him, knock him unconscious, and leave him for the bear to eat him alive."

I felt my gut twisting. It made sense, each time the bear would attack it was looking for Milo. No wonder that time in the woods the bear walked away from us, because I'm positive that the bear was aware we were there, even if we were hiding, which wasn't very good. It wasn't just attacking at random. It was looking for someone.

I whipped around to him. "Milo. How the fuck are you planning to stop what they have planned?" I demand with anger leaking into my tone. I wasn't gonna let him die, and he wasn't gonna let himself die either.
