Anne stood alone in a dark space, eyes darting around. This was new... She could've sworn a few moments ago she was in bed, closing her laptop and getting ready to rest, "Huh," She looked at her hands for a moment, then back around, "Must be some type of nightmare." She took note of the dark area and slowly began to walk forward. This definitely wasn't a dream she usually would have. Well... That would be obvious.
After a few steps she came to a stop, and a look of realization showed on her face, "Wait... If this is a dream then that means... I can control it, right?" She let the echo fade out before closing her eyes and thinking hard... Hoping something would pop up in front of her. And just like that, a small bubble tea formed mid-air. She wasn't expecting it to work but grabbed it anyway, "...But this isn't drinkable, is it?.." She asked herself, attempting to drink the tea but it disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
"Well, it was worth a shot." Anne said, evident disappointment in her tone, "But... I guess I should see what else this dark place has to offer... Even if it is... Fake." She continued walking forward.
The space felt like it went on forever. What was forever here, anyways. Time doesn't have an existence here, does it? Now that's something to wonder about. Anne kept walking and walking until eventually... She came to a halt, and stared. In front of her was an old mirror, "Well that's not creepy at all." She muttered, walking closer.
She stared into her own eyes and rested her palm on the mirror. In the reflection, it was just her in the dark. Made sense, honestly. But then a little blue ball of light appeared on her neck, "Huh?" Anne looked at it and felt her own neck... Nothing was there. She looked back into the reflection, a mix of worry and confusion becoming more clear.
...All was fine for a brief moment, until the ball of light transformed into a chain around the reflections neck, and the reflection began to thrash and scream. Anne slowly backed away and tried to escape, but the ball of light emerged from the mirror and began to fly toward her. She turned around and tried to run away as fast as she could, but the ball of light was faster and formed a chain around her neck too. Other balls of light emerged from the floor below her and made chains around her wrists.
Like the reflection, she thrashed and screamed, desperately trying to get free. She could hear footsteps coming closer, and just hid in her hands hoping they'd just pass by. The footsteps stopped, and she moved her hands trying to see if they had gone. Whoever they were... But they stood in front of her, grin on their face, holding a knife, several eyes staring down at her... In a chilling voice, they said, "...WAKE UP..."

Anne's eyes shot open, cold sweat dripping down her face and heart pounding in her chest. Her eyes darted around frantically as she sat up, looking around her room. She looked in every corner and found nothing, eventually giving a sigh of relief. The early morning rays of the sun shone through her window. Domino peacefully slept next to her, a toy mouse in her snow-white paws. Anne lightly smiled and gently ran her hand along Domino's fur, making the cat's eyes open for a moment before closing them again. Anne laid back down and stared at the ceiling, "Sometimes I wish I knew how you can sleep through anything..." She told Domino, to which the cat replied with a soft mew.
Anne rolled onto her side and closed her eyes. Her wing was resting over Domino like a shield. Perhaps she could get another hour or two of sleep...

When Anne woke up again, she felt a little groggy. Her vision was a bit blurry but quickly returned to normal after a minute or two. Her eyes must've dried up in her sleep. But... As for why she felt so sluggish, she didn't have an answer. Maybe because of how she was sleeping lately and her mind plagued by constant nightmares. Some even repeat. Or it could've been something else.
