My alarm went off, it was 6am in the morning. I turned my alarm off before getting up. It could not be September already. I wasn't mentally prepared for this year.
I got in the shower, before getting changed into a pair of baggy jeans and a hoodie. I didn't care if my outfit didn't look great, I just wanted this school year to be over with.
I walked downstairs, where my mum was. "Good morning, sweetie!" My mum said in a happy voice. She then smiled at me, it was easy for her to say 'good morning', because she wasn't the one going to suffer another miserable year in a place she doesn't want to be. "If it was a 'good' morning I'd be in bed right now." I sigh. I grab an apple off the counter and head out.
I begin to eat my apple whilst walking to school. I go to Linsbrugh Central Academy, it was walking distance from my house, which was useful. I see kids from my school walking together. I soon finish my apple and put in a nearby bin. I can see the school in the distance, getting closer and closer as I walk towards it.
I eventually make it to the school, I walk up the steps outside to get to the main entrance.
As soon as I get into the school, I begin to try and stay as invisible as possible. To be honest, as you can tell, I'm no social butterfly. I never have been, that's why I have no friends. Everyone tell me I should try to make some friends but what difference would that make?
I continue to wander around the school campus.
Eventually, I made it to the center of the building. There were benches and plants scattered around. There wasn't many people here, so it was quite quiet. Everything seemed to be going quite good, for once. Until, Liam begun to approach me, he's bullied me since the first day of year 7. As I've already mentioned, I have never been very social, so it was hard for me to interact with anyone. This made me an easy target for people, like Liam, to bully.
I was praying he'd ignore me and he was walking to a friend or something. But like usual, life is not on my side and he ends up standing in front of me with his friend, Sam.
"What? You still have no friends! I would've thought this being your fifth year at this school you'd at least have one friend!" Liam said, obviously trying to get a reaction out of me. "Too upset by the truth to talk?" Liam scoffed. "I bet she is!" Sam joined in. "What do you want, Liam?" I said, rolling my eyes getting tired of this. "You really think, I want something off a pathetic loser like you?" Liam scoffs again. I cannot believe this guy. He really does have a big ego.
The bell rings, just in time. I could not stand Liam any longer. "Just a reminder the school years just started, May." Liam smirked, using my last name, before walking away.
I walked to my first class. I swear, my luck is either none existent or this school loves to make my life more miserable. In the back row I see, Liam. I look at the seating plan trying to ignore the fact I'm going to spend a year with him in my class.
I look at the seating plan, trying to find my name. I find it. It's next to Liam! This school must really hate me.
I sigh and walk over the my desk. Liam is not any more pleased than me.
"I can't believe I have to sit next to you." Liam rolls his eyes. "I'm not happy either." I scoff. "Whatever. Just don't talk to me." He says, before ignoring my presence and putting his AirPods in. "Wasn't planning to." I mumble.
Class begins. It was really boring. I take notes on the lesson, trying to get as much information I can so I can revise off it later. Liam looks over at my work and begins to copy my notes. I realize this and cover my notes. "Get your own notes." I loud whisper to him. "Why would I do that when I have you?" He chuckles. I roll my eyes, this is going to be a long year.
After class, I go to my locker. Liam and his friends approach me. This is just my day. "What?" I snap, already having enough of his crap. "Woah! Someone's feisty." Liam jokes. I narrow my eyes. "No need to be such a buzzkill." He sighs. I just roll my eyes. "You really are annoying, you know that?" Liam chuckles. "So are you." I comment. "Yeah, but my dad didn't leave me." Liam says.
I'm too stunned to say anything, I'm in shock. I know he says really shitty things sometimes. But this! I feel tears forming. I am not crying in front of him right now. I slam my locker shut and run away to the bathrooms. I did not need Liam making fun of me because of this.
