POV Aizawa

He was right with his assumption. The underground hero was convinced of that. The boy's reaction had been so obviously panicked as soon as he had heard the name that there could be no doubt about his identity. Now they also knew that he was the vigilante they were looking for.Zero probably hadn't even realized it in his panic, but he had used his quirk twice. The likelihood of having a second human in this city who not only had wings but also an invisibility quirk was almost non-existent.

Aizawa stood on the sidewalk and waited for his partner to return. The crowd was gradually dispersing. He was glad about that. The underground hero didn't want to share their new findings with a bunch of civilians. A few minutes later, Hawks returned. Alone, which was unfortunately to be expected.

The other hero landed next to him and folded his wings. "As soon as he was out of your range, he turned invisible again- wait a minute! So this boy is not only Null, but also our wanted vigilante? So we were both right." Hawks pulled out his cell phone. "I have to tell Tou that Null really is still alive. He's been fretting about it for years."

Aizawa rolled his eyes. He still found it hard to believe that Dabi was supposed to be a double agent of the Commission. He played his villainous role so convincingly that there was no doubt about his evil intentions. "I'm going back to the café."

The winged hero looked up from his cell phone only briefly. "Meeting tonight as usual?""Yes, then we'll discuss our findings and the next steps. I might be a little late, though."

Hawks waggled his bushy eyebrows. "Hot date?"

"No, the chore of herding a flea circus of problem children," Aizawa returned.

"Shouldn't class be over by now?"

"Yes, but we had an incident today. I have to see if one of them has come to and another one gets a temporary reprimand with suspension. Sometimes I think Nezu only let that boy into the hero class to give me gray hair." Aizawa buried the lower half of his face in his scarf.

"Sounds like I wouldn't want to trade places with you. I'm really no good as an educator." Hawks laughed.

The underground hero grinned diabolically. "No, that devil's spawn would dance on your nose. Last year I got a whole class full of problem children."

"And it looks like you get to deal with another one of them after work."

"Yeah, looks like it," the black-haired man grumbled. The two heroes said goodbye to each other. His thoughts returned to the green-haired teenager and he felt guilty. He had given him a full-blown panic attack. It was only when the boy dropped his laptop to get away from him and didn't even make an attempt to pick it up again that Aizawa realized his mistake. It wasn't just an unpleasant memory which had come to him as soon as the hero had called him Null. The reaction couldn't even be adequately explained by PTSD. There had been naked fear in his eyes - fear of death - and it was all Aizawa's fault. Damn it!

Before he could indulge in any more self-reproach, he thought of something. If no other guest had taken it, the laptop would still be in the café. Maybe they could use it to find out where the vigilante was hiding. Since Aizawa knew he was a traumatized minor, he wanted to help him all the more.

It was time to talk to Zashi and the rat god.

Back at the café, the employee was mopping the floor. The guests had all left. He and Zero had made quite a mess.

Aizawa cleared his throat behind her. "Excuse me?"

The young woman turned around and grimaced as soon as she recognized him. The hero couldn't blame her. "What do you want?"
