*LONG chapter ahead!!

'Okay husky nation! We're back, better than ever. Here we have Norte Dame running out of the tunnel. Looks like there warming up, now here we go, the starting line up for UConn, Miss Azzi Fudddd!' The onncucer screams over the loud speakers.

We all clap and high five Az as she runs through our tunnel.

'Ice Bradyyyyy!!'
'Paige Bueckersss!'
'Miss Sydney Williamsss!'
'And last but not least, Aubrey Griffinnnnn!'

We all run on to the court and start shooting around. Eventually the warm up clock ends and the real game starts. Norte Dame won the tip off, one of their players dribbled the ball up the court. Paige wacked the ball out of her hands, dribbling it up and easily getting a layup.

I quickly dabbed her up, and ran back to our side of the court. The game went on, us easily winning.

Sydney finally got a sub, she melted on the bench chair on the side of the court. "Good hustle Williams" Geno complemented her. Sydney sipped on her water, focusing back in on the game. Paige had the ball, dribbling it up the court. Sydney watched as Paige ran down the court, then all the sudden, her knee gave out. It must have buckled. Shit

And that's when time stopped. Sydney's heart dropped to her stomach. Paige fell down, grabbing her left knee in pain. Sydney sprinted to her, holding her tight. She didn't care what people thought, what the cameras were showing. Her best friend needed comfort, and that's what Sydney was going to do.

Sydney didn't say anything, she held Paige tight, sitting on the ground, rubbing her back. She watched as her best friend cried in pain.

Sydney heard the announcers talking about her and Paige, Sydney looked up at the box they sat in, and gave them a look. Me and Azzi helped the blonde up. She looked like she was truly in pain. Paige was tough, she never let her emotions show, but right now, she didn't look so good. Paige wrapped her arms around Azzia md Sydney's shoulders and they carried her body and legs to the locker room.

Sydney watched as Paige's tears flew down her face. Sydney and Azzi getting rushed out of the room by the medical team. "Syd, she'll be alright, we gotta go and win it for our team tho, that's what Paige would have wanted you to do" Azzi said walking away. Azzi didn't know Paige like Sydney did, Paige would have wanted Azzi to go out and win, but not Sydney. She would have wanted Sydney right by her side, just like Sydney would want Paige to be. She needed a shoulder to cry on, and Sydney was her shoulder.

"Hey Geno, look I'm sorry but I gotta go with Paige, I will be no help to the team with my mind not in the game and on Paige" Sydney walked up to her coach, giving him puppy eyes. "Fine, keep me updated, good luck" Geno gave in.

Sydney ran out the double doors, rushing to the ambulance that Paige was getting loaded into. "I'm coming" Sydney demanded. "Sydney you can't-" A medical director went to say "I said I'm coming." Sydney growled and made herself at home on the ambulance bench.

Paige was passed out in pain, asleep on the stretcher. "Tell me what's wrong with her" Sydney asked the paramedic. It was just Sydney, the paramedics, and Paige in the small ambulance, the team would meet them after the game. "Can you handle it?" The woman asked, ripping her blue medical gloves off. Sydney instantly nodded, "she probably tore her ACL, she might be out for the rest of the season. She passed out cause of the pain but her pulse is steady." The paramedic talked slowly, Sydneys world felt like it stopped spinning. She was heartbroken for Paige. It was like Sydney was the one who got hurt. She felt so deeply for her best friend.

She's seen athletes tear their ACL and the recovery is hell. Sydney knew she had to be their for Paige, every step of the way. The ambulance pulled over and the doors swung open. The wheeled Paige inside, a nurse put her hands on Sydney's chest, motioning her to stop running. "Are you her friend?" The nurse asked "her best friend" Sydney said, looking into the nurses eyes worriedly. "Okay they're thinking of doing a surgery and she's over 18 so I don't need parental consent but do you think Paige would want this?" The nurse asked. Surgery, so soon.
