The next morning the two girls were woken up with the nurse, they headed out to the hallway, trying to get Paige to walk. She gripped onto the handrail in the hallway, the nurse took notes as Paige stared at her best friend in pain. The nurse decided to give Paige crutches. They got discharged, and Sydney led Paige to the car, helping her in.

"I'm proud of you P" Sydney said, putting a hand on the girls upper thigh. "For what" Paige sighed, feeling defeated. "You walked down that hallway, small steps" Sydney said, giving Paige the aux.

Paige held Sydney's hand, as Paige out on 'nobody gets me' by SZA. Paige's dad called the girls and insisted he book them a flight to Minnesota. They would leave tonight and stay the week with Paige's family.

The two girls quickly packed up their suitcases, and hoped into the Uber her dad ordered them. They took their time heading to the gate. Paige couldn't crutch herself through security so they ended up giving her a wheelchair. The finally made it on the flight, Paige immediately falling asleep on Sydney's chest.

The flight flew by. The girls landed in the small Minnesota airport, walking out of the tunnel to be met by the whole Bueckers family.

Drew was the first one to jump in the two best friends arms. The rest of the family hugged them, then Sydney wheeled Paige out to the car. The car ride was about 45 minutes from the airport to the Bueckers house. The car ride consisted of laughs and a lot of talking, and catching up.

Sydney got to stay in their guest room, but she probably will be in Paige's room every night. Sydney stepped back into the house, the house that she basically lived in, it still smelt the same.

"Okay girls I just ordered takeout from Kacies, can you go pick it up?" Bob asked Sydney and Paige. "Sure!" Paige replied, clutching her way to the door. Sydney helped Paige get in the car, Sydney driving to the two's favorite pizza shop.

"I will go run in and grab it" Sydney said, unbuckling. "No, no, I will come" Paige said, unbuckling as well. "P, no, your injured, relax I will be right back" Sydney said, closing the car door.

Sydney opened the door, the door chiming when she swung it open. She walked up to the counter, waiting for someone to help her. "Sydney? Sydney Williams?" A familiar man voice said, finally coming into Sydney's view, as he walked up behind the counter. "Ryan Toose? It's so nice to see you!" Sydney said.

"It's been so long, I saw you transferred to UConn, how are you liking it?" Ryan asked. Ryan was the football quarterback in high school, the sweetest guy. Everyone had a crush on him in high school. "It's really good, what about you, how's-" Sydney went to say, but couldn't remember what college he decided to go to.

"I'm not in college, it just wasn't for me, but what brings you back to Minnesota?!" "Oh, you know Paige right?" "Yes I know the famous Paige Bueckers, are you guys still buddies?" Ryan asked. "Ya" Sydney chuckled. "Well during our game she got injured and ended up tearing her ACL, and her family flew us out here so she could see them" Sydney said, getting flashbacks of Paige's face in pain.

"Oh that sucks, but at least you get to come home." Ryan said, trying to enlighten the mood. "Ya well" Sydney shrugged. "Well how can I help you?" "Um we got takeout, the names Bob" Sydney said, watching Ryan walk away and coming back with two pizza boxes and a small takeout box. "Here you go, it's already paid for, but when will I see you again? We could meet up for dinner, if you feel like it" Ryan asked, handing her the food. "Uh I will be around" Sydney laughed. "Ok well I'll see you!" Ryan said as Sydney walked out the shop.

"What took you so long, mamas hungry" Paige said, as Sydney got back into the car. Paige ripped open a pizza box, taking a slice out "ah hot!" Paige complained.
"Guess who I just ran into?" Sydney said, bucking her seatbelt. "Ryan Toose, from high school!" Sydney said pulling out. "What did he have to say?" Paige snarled. "Just catching up about life, I might meet up with him for dinner" Sydney said casually. Paige was jealous, she didn't want any guy going near Sydney.

Paige didn't speak a word the whole ride home, Sydney noticed she was off. "Paige what's wrong?" Sydney asked as she pulled into the Bueckers driveway. "Nothin" Paige whispered, trying to get out of the car, but failing cause she can barely walk. Even though Paige was mad at Sydney, she had to put her stubbornness aside and let Sydney help her walk inside.

The family sat and ate their takeout, everyone but Paige talking. Had Sydney done something? The two girls went off to their separate bedrooms.

Sydney didn't get any sleep, when the time came around 6:30 am she decided to get out of bed and go for a walk, maybe get some breakfast. She put some leggings and a hoodie and walked out the door.

Sydney walked to her and Paige's favorite childhood breakfast bar. Sydney walked in, smelling the fresh coffee beans. "Syd!" Ryan said, from a table. He was alone, working on his laptop. "Hey" Sydney said, joining him at the table. "What's up?" He asked. "Nothing much, you?" "Ah same here, how's Paige doing?" Ryan asked, making conversation "ah she can't walk without crutches but she's being tough about, you know Paige" Sydney huffed. The girl hasn't talked to Sydney since last night when they picked up the pizza.

"So who's your new boy?" Ryan asked, trying to be casual. "Haha wdym?" "Well like do you have a boyfriend??" "No I don't, unfortunately" Sydney laughed at the nervous boy. "So, what are you doing tonight?" Ryan asked, closing his laptop "chilling" "well would you wanna chill with me? we could hit up this new restaurant " "is Ryan Toose, football quarterback asking me on a date?" Sydney gasped, jokingly.

"Ya ya, so I'll pick you up at 7?" Ryan asked as Sydney got up from the table. "7 and I'll be at the Bueckers house" Sydney said, walking out the cafe door.
