Two mornings later, it was Christmas and Sydney woke up and Paige wasn't there. She fell back to sleep for a minute just to be woken back up. Her eyes slowly closing before her blanket was ripped off her body. Her head snapped up to see Paige smirking at her, along with her younger cousins behind her. They were all holding onto the blanket.
"Give it back!" Sydney huffed in annoyance, making Paige's smirk widen. "Okay" Paige paused, "if you give me a kiss" Paige said, all the little behind her making disgusted faces. "I rather get hit by a bus" Sydney joked. Paige's jaw dropped, dramatically putting her hand on her chest.
Sydney got up, yanking the blanket out of their hands, wrapping it around her body and heading to the stairs. "1, 2, 3!" Paige yelled, then suddenly all the little came stampeding to Sydney. They all bombarded her with hugs, crushing her down to the floor. She was lucky she wasn't that close to the stairs yet cause they could have knocked her down the stairs.
She popped her head out, struggling to breathe. Paige was standing there, laughing as she held her phone up, taking photos. Sydney stretched her hand out and flipped off the blonde, making her laugh more.
"Let's go downstairs! Santa came!" Sydney spoke in a baby voice to her little cousins. They woke everyone else up and rushed down the stairs. The little cousins were the cutest, jumping up and down at the sight of all the presents under the tree. They all sat around and watched them open their gifts, occasionally opening one of theirs.
"Ooo! Open mine babe!" Sydney jumped out of her seat, running to the present she got for Paige. She hid it behind the tree, untangling it from the lights. Paige smiled as Sydney sat down next to her, placing the box on her lap.
Sydney watched in admiration as the slowly unraveled the paper off the box. Her face lighting up at each little surprise Sydney had wrapped. She immediately put on the Nike sweatshirt, tape from the wrapping paper still on the sleeve. When she got to the bottom of the box, she immediately got up from the couch, leaving the box there.
She gripped the collar of the sweatshirt, hiding her face in it. "What's wrong Paige" AJ asked laughing. "Stop I can't open that, I'm gonna ball my eyes out. I have always wanted someone to make me this" Paige cried, coming over to the brunette and squeezing her tight, falling in top of her.
"What did you get Paigey?" Sammie asked, Paige got up walking over to the box, showing everyone the scrap book of memories Sydney had put together. "Can I flip through it later, with you?" She asked the brunette who couldn't stop smiling. Sydney nodded, happy that Paige was happy.
Everyone had mainly wrapped up opening gifts, just one left under the tree, that all the little cousins were toying with. Paige strangled it out of their hands and brought it over to her girlfriend, placing it in her lap then going to sit on the opposite couch.
Sydney smiled at the girl, then look down at the Santa gift wrapping paper box. There was a little sticker on it that said, to Buster, love Rambo, which made Sydney's heart warm. She pulled out a pair of socks, customized to have Paige's face on them, everyone was laughing, that was a typical Paige gift. She then reached in and grabbed a small keychain plaque, that had Paige's small handwriting engraved on it. 'Drive safe, I love you ❤️ P' Sydney made a sentimental face and looked up at her family, dangling the keychain so they could see.
"I know how you love car accessories and stuff so I got you this for your keys, you can put it on your land yard" Paige softly said. She pulled out a few more small items such as jewelry, the cutest tote bag, a book she had been dying to read, and then there was a folded up sweatshirt laying down. She picked it up and unraveled it, something dropping but she didn't care to look what it was. It was a SZA sweatshirt, one that she has been wanting, also one of her and Paige's favorite artists. "Look at the ground" Riley hummed, Sydney dropped her head down to see two SZA concert tickets laying on the rug.
