I had worked tirelessly through the night. Carting coffee for the two  of us back and forth from the kitchenette to our desks. I had been furiously chewing my gum as I put together the computer and found that now as I stood back and looked at my good work, my jaw ached angrily at me. I massaged it  with my hand as I inspected the computer for any outside problems I should fix before turning it on.

Finally I pressed the power button and the screen lit up with the blinking cursor awaiting the incriptions I would set into it. A whole night constructing the outside was quite enough work in my opinion. I could put together the inner workings later. Or rather whenever he next called me in.

I downed the cold dregs of my coffee and turned around to look at my boss sitting in his own chair working on a piece of one of the many suits lined up along the curved wall to our left. He seemed to hear more movement from me than usual. He leane back and cracked his back. Slowly and dramatically he turned toward me. His eyes glanced around the computer I had built that was standing on the little wheely cart that had once been full of parts.

"You're finished then?" he asked expectantly

I nodded and yawned. He bit the inside of his cheek and turned back to his own work.

"Excuse me, sir." I started "But, can I go home now that I'm finished?"

"I read up on you," he said turning around in his chair to view me again "You just moved to California?"

"I...Uh, yeah," I shrugged

"You got a place?" He asked nonchalantly fiddling with the pencil in his hand.

"Yeah," I laughed "Nothin special I geuss, just a place to eat and sleep,"

"How long does it take you to get from there to here?" He asked turning back to what he was working on.

"Not that long, 20 minutes maybe."

"Hmm, what time you planning on being here everyday?" He inquired

"Im not sure," I shrugged "whenever you want me to be, I geuss."

"Well, I dont have it planned out exactly when I'm going to need you anyway. So I'm gonna have you move in here if thats ok. The way," He started. He finished tightening something on the piece of the suit. "I'll have have you when I need you."

He smiled up at me.

"Oh, ok" I looked at my shoes "When do you want me to move in?"

"Soon as possible if you could," He clapped his hands together. "Im going to go upstairs and sleep. Um follow me and I'll show you where to put your stuff."

He stood and began up the curling stairs.

"I hope you understand. I would'nt ask you to do this unless I really needed you here." He continued up the stairs while looking back at me "You see, I'm working on alot of different new suits right now and, dont tell anyone but I need a second opinion on them. Someone who sees eye to eye with me but can get a different perspective on it. Yes admitedly you will be writing alot of code, but the main reason I need you is to work on the suits with me. Like I said before, I have alot of ideas and I want to get them out as soon as I can. You are NOT "helping" me so much as just being my... lets call it apprentice."

"Gee Wiz," I smiled

He turned around and smiled at me half of a joke. He opened up the door beside him. It was a simple white room. A little twin bed in the corner with expensive looking blue covers. There was a little stand right next to it and a flat screen tv across from it. There was a large floor to cieling window with easily drawn white curtains. To the side of that was another door.

"Theres a bathroom and closet through there," He explained pointing at the door. "Sorry its so simple  I didnt know what you would like. I mean not everyone has the same style so I just let Pepper have cart blanch and go for it."

"No its fine," I smiled politely "Thank you, I'm not too much of a home body so it'll do just fine. I imagine I'll be working with you alot more than staying in here."

"Thats the plan," he smiled "Um... sleep, rest up, whatever and I'll... I'll just wake you when I wake up. I suppose your partial to showering."

"Uh yeah. I like to do it everyday. I dont know about you but..." I chuckled

"Well I ask cause, well I dont bathe everyday," He chuckled "Especially not the days I'm just working around here."

"I heard somewhere once that people who bathe everyday live longer," I shrugged "It just stuck with me I suppose. That and I'm partial to looking a certain way everyday."

"Yeah see with me its just effortless," he said waving his hands around with ephasis. "You'll see tomarrow, you will."

I laughed hesitantly he encouraged me with his own laughter. He started leave then he turned around

"You know, I dont know why, but I had this image of you and you just arent fitting it," he sighed shaking his head

"What was I supposed to be like?" I asked slightly offended

"Well to be honest I pictured you as some shy geek." He shrugged

"Where would you get that from?" I exclaimed

"Who runs a crime syndicate and then goes off and gets 3 degrees?" he replied

"What so now I have to be the female version of Napolean Dynamite?!" I smiled at my joke.

He laughed and shook his head and his hands out in front of him.

"Hey! who said Napolean Dynamite?" he joked back "Just didnt expect you like this. Well I hope you stop with the whole "I'm afraid of my boss thing" Its super annoying."

"I ran a entire crime syndicate covering the east coast. Im not afraid of you," I laughed

"Well, you should be," he joked

"Yes, sir" I hung my head

He laughed and pointed at me with fake anger.

"none of that!" He cried "No more "sir" youll make me feel old."

"You'll have to come ot terms with it eventually," I laughed

He chuckled and shook his head. He started out of the door.

"Oh and in case it wasn't clear. I like you better the way you are," He said with a smile and finger gun snap at me " Rather then a female napolean dynamite"

"gee thanks sir," I smiled

He shook his head with a chuckle and left, shutting the door behind him.
