I walked down the hallway with Max. She told me they had a cafeteria on this thing. I looked over at her talking about something. She used her hands alot when she talked and everything she talked about she got really excited about it. She was quite a charecter.
We reached a pair of sliding glass doors. They opened and emitted us into a large cafeteria. It reminded of a hospital cafeteria. Though it smelled like a school one. I made a face and she laughed.
"Dont worry," She patted my arm and led me to the line "I'll show you what to get thats good."
"Alright, as long as you show me what to get." I laughed
She nodded and we started going through the line. She picked doubles of things out of the cases and piled my tray up. When we were finished we just went and sat down at a table. We were sitting there talking for awhile when Jacqueline came and joined us. She smiled her greeting at me and introduced herself to Max. Max shook her hand and re-entered her conversation.
I looked around the room casually and spotted Nicole sitting by herself at a table. I caught her eye and waved her over to us. She looked around the room checking if I was talking to someone else. I smiled at her and waved again. She picked up her tray and walked over. She sat awkwardly at a chair. Her eyes caught Max's and she introduced herself.
"You know Fury wants us to head out with Billy soon," Nicole interjected
"Who?" Asked Max, shoveling some mashed potatoes into her mouth
"All of us," Replied Nicole
"All of who?" Asked Max through a mouth full of mashed potatoes
"All of us," Said Nicole with frustration pointing around the table.
"He asked for us specifically?" I asked shoving taking a bit from a chicken nugget.
"Well for you it goes with out saying," She pointed at me accusingly. I looked lazily down at the tip of her finger and then back up at her. She dropped it and went back to her food.
"Who else is going besides us?" asked Max "Which by "Us" I'm geussing you mean Jacqueline, you, and me. Along with Evangeline."
"Bruce voulunteered," Shrugged Nicole
"And Tony?" I asked hopefully
Their heads craned around and looked at me. I scooted back in my seat a little bit. Dropping my eyes to my food and taking another bite of a chicken nugget.
Nicole cleared her throat "no,"
"I suppose they'll all come in later?" Jacqueline asked
"I suppose so," nodded Nicole.
"Well, yeah, thats cool I geuss." I mumbled
I ate my food in silence. Not bothering to add on to Max's conversation. She had a gift for talking. I liked her, she was always bright and happy. She was easy to be around. We finished eating and went back to stand around the table.
I felt a pinch from left side. I looked up to see Jacqueline making a funny face at me. I looked around, as if ignoring her attempt to make me happier. Then I turned my head around fast with my eyes crossed and my tongue sticking out at her.
She laughed and Nicole looked at us dissaprovingly. I punched her arm and Max laughed at the face Nicole made.
"Lighten up will you?" I chuckled to her
She rolled her eyes.
"You know its ok," I smiled at her "Whatever happens. You and you Captain will get married and everything will be just fine."
