Chapter 6 - The Banquet

OLLO!!! I hope you are enjoying the story! AS I promised this is where things are REALLY going to pick up. Like a snap of your fingers and shit is gonna get real. OOOO I'm super excited. Ok ok so my plan for today is to get 2 chapters out maybe even 3. We will see how this goes. If it werent for my stupid biology I might've had 5 chapters uploaded today but what can you do? ENJOY :) oh and happy sunday. may all your sunday wishes come true *disney music*

For around a month thats how our days went. We would work all day and get the minimum amount of sleep at night. Soon enough we had made almost 20 more suits. With plenty of upgrades and impressive things they could do. One day after we were taking a taco break and a thought crossed my mind.

"I thought we would be working with some newer energy sources as well," I took another bite 

"We are," he nodded through a mouth full "You've only been working with me for a month."

"Well yeah," I said shrugging "But we havent even touched on the subject."

 He nodded his head from side to side "I haven't even decided which part the company you're going to take off my hands."

"Take off your hands? I thought I was just doing the boring parts of the work." I replied

"Yeah, I imagine I might go and work on something for a little bit. Like I'll go ahead and continue to work on the suits. Then you can go and work on engineering something for the energy branch of the company. You can put together something slightly new and make the press go nuts. You'll handle them while I keep working on the suits." He explained through finishing a taco. 

"So basically I'll just handle the press," I chewed thoughtfully "I thought I would be doing more engineering stuff."

"You will be but for now thats the plan, I mean esentially you'll be working on the stuff I'm bored with." He laughed 

"So right now you're bored with the energy part of your company?" I smiled 

"Yeah," He nodded "I just wanna play with my toys."

I chuckled. 

"It's an important part of the country's safety; my suit is. I mean all the stuff I did in New York and everything. Those guys wouldn't have gotten half as far with out me." 

"Yeah yeah ok. So how is this going to work?" I asked wadding up my paper and shooting it into the trash can across the room "I'm just going to drop in and take over a major part of your company?" 

"No, course not." He said shaking his head and shooting his own trash in the can " We are having a banquet to present your work. You know, this is my protege, look at the cool stuff she's done, oh yeah by the way shes gonna be helping out with some of the stuff we do at Stark Industries. Ooooo how exciting." 

"Oh?" I asked leaning forward "When is that?"

"Tonight," He sighed stretching "I'm gonna go get ready for this thing. Wear something formal."

"I dont have anything formal though," I stated "Why wouldn't you tell me sooner?"

"Yeah I know, I had Pepper get you a dress. It's upstairs in your room. I picked it out for you. It will prove I have excellent taste, go on. Go and see." he said as he walked up the stairs. "Meet me down here when you are done getting ready. We leave at 6."

I sighed and climbed the stairs to my room. There was a dress hanging in the closet. It was strapless and floor length. The bodice was covered with rhinstones and tiny triangular mirrors. it had a heart shaped neck line and the bodice ended with a curve above the waiste. The bottom of the dress was long tiffany blue tulle. There were a pair of matching high heels in the same tiffany blue with rectangle mirrors along the edges.
