Evangeline's POV
*****************************************************************
Fury was losing patience with me. For every question he asked I replied with the same answer. Its not as if I was lying. Thinking back clearly now we should have made plans for if things went wrong. A place where we would meet back up. Somewhere we could regroup and try again. Instead we had been so focused on our motives that we had forgotten to really make a good plan. Or rather I had forgotten to cover my tracks and lead my group in an effective way.
"We dont need much from you Evangeline," He said stepping away and rubbing his eyes "I'm lucky I even called them off. There are forces above me working against you at this point. They want justice. If you can give me information I can negotiate something but with out making yourself useful. I'm afraid you're just taking up space."
I looked into his eye, he looked almost concerned for me. He kept rubbing his hand over the top of his shiny bald head and sighing repeatedly.
"What you think I'm doing this on purpose?" I asked, getting frustrated myself "If I knew I would answer. You ought to know already whose side I'm on."
"I do," He nodded "But you need to prove that to them. I know you would set up a place to meet afterward just tell me where it is. Or else they'll come back in here and I wont be able to stop it this time around."
"You have to understand," I pleaded "Its not logical. I didnt make plans. I just lead them into a war zone without thinking about it. Now that I think about it, they all probably had an escape plan. It was just me. I'm not sure how they hoped things would happen, but they had a plan if it didnt. They didnt let me in on that though."
"That plan was pretty effective for not being put together under the influence of logic." He began to circle the little medal chair I was tied to. "Taking down the entire security system like that. Stealing some of the weapons stores. Implanting viruses on all 5 leading servers. Quite something to achieve with out really thinking about it isnt it."
"I didnt say we didnt think about it." I replied, looking down at my feet "It was me who didnt. They put together the majority of the plan. Including the escape."
"You must think I'm on another level of stupid for me to believe that line of bullshit!" He growled "You were the leader of their group. You recruited three of your little friends to help complete the job. If you think that I am going to believe that you didnt create the majority of that plan up for them to follow. Then maybe you need another round with the other guys."
"I have no reason to protect them anymore," I replied harshly "You must be on another level of stupid if you think I could gain anything by lying to you."
"You're just making this more difficult on yourself!" he exclaimed.
"Wheres Tony?" I asked
"Where is Clavin Carr, Justine Hammer, Or Parker Robbins. There are questions we want answered Evangeline," He replied "When you answer our questions, we'll answer yours."
"I just want to know if hes ok,"
"We just want to know where a couple of dangerous people are," He shrugged
"If I knew I would tell you!" I yelled
"Then stop pretending you dont know and tell us!" He yelled back.
The door bust open suddenly. Our heads whipped around to see who had busted down the door. It was Tony, standing in the door way. Framed by the bright sun light from windows behind him. His fists were clenched and his eye brows were furrowed deeply above angry eyes. He surveyed me closely and then looked at Fury. His eyes flashed and he strode forward and threw a punch at Fury.
